Last week I finally ordered some of the buffed switchblade models and they finally came two days ago... I've never played with such an awesome guitar pick before!

I only bought 3 because I wanted to try them out, but I think I'll buy a higher quantity after these wear out or I lose them.

I was surprised because I noticed a difference in the tone right away. And the grip is nice. I tried switching from the nylon dunlop picks with the grip to my old tortex picks and they kept sliding in my hand because I wasn't used to them. These ones stick in place

Haven't tried them yet? I recommend it!

Good choice! As an Endorsee, I have to agree! I have used so many inferior guitar picks in the past that once Todd turned me on to V-Picks, I never broke away. They are fantastic!

Glad you like em! Vinnie and I worked together to create the pick and I"m thrilled with how it turned out. These picks just RAWK! I am still experimenting with other Vpicks, but so far this one is my fav. It's fast, pointy, and smooth!

haha thanks! I was thinking of buying the multipack with the different variations, but the switchblade sounded like everything I want in a pick so I'll definitely be buying more! Unless I can afford that $4500 meteorite guitar pick

Tried these out a few months back, definitely not for me I'm afraid. Despite their marketing idea, I found them very 'slippy' in my fingers, and most of them make a weird squeeky noise when I pick! Sticking to the Jazz III XL, but the other guitarist in my jazz band swears by them.

I seem to be the only who doesn't like these picks. Although I need to try some of their newer picks, I think I heard about one called Ruby that had a different shape/ attack to it.

I also ordered the Switchblade which is totally not for me. It's okay for solo/picking stuff, but it's literally impossible for me to play fast rhythm stuff with it.
However,the Ruby Red Screamer is really great and I use it all the time now. Still, I have to say the "non-slipping" thing is not really true. Then again, I rarely had problems with picks slipping out of my hand, so it doesn't really matter to me.

They are a bit extreme in terms of the tonality and they need to be held a certain way, etc. They are not for everyone, honestly. But if your one of the folks that they "click" with, not much else will do. I've noticed this about them, folks either love em or or don't like em at all. I have yet to find someone who "kinda" liked em, or "Sorta" used them. It's a polarizing pick

THE RUBY! IT'S A MONSTER! It shreds deep gashes in my hand every time I use it! It's got sharp points on every side. Like trying to pick with buzz saw! But hey to each his own Sorry to hear the switch blad didn't work out, but glad you found something you like better!

I love my Jazz III's. Wasn't a fan of the tortex model, but they kindof of grew on me ~ they get a little slippy, but carving a cross hatch on both sides of the pick seems to eliminate that problem ! I'll try a V-Pick one day, but my concern is that I'll lose all my picks in the dryer or refirgerator and then my only recourse to replace them quickly would be to order more? ~ just easier to go to a guitar shop and pick up a handful on the spot. But I will try V-picks to see what all the hubbub is about Who knows, maybe I'll love them so much I stockpile them in every room, freezer, cupboard and sock droor in the house for that "oh no moment"!

Don't get me wrong about the Switchblade, it's great for AP stuff especially on the high strings, but just didn't work out for me when playing powerchords. I tried it a couple of times during your VChat and it totally worked for the crazy shred licks

I don't know if I should buy V-picks, I tried many pick last year, but I found only 1 that matches with my playstyle. I love it when the pick is not too thick ( 0.88 and less ) and have a little sharp edge with a little bit of flex. My first impression on V pick, it looks too thick...

I don't know if you guys can help me out the perfect one, but it would be cool

The Switchblade look really great ...

It certainly works a bit beter on single strings. It would make a good practice pick for our saturday meltdowns BEN likes the triple edge pick just like you dig!



Well they are a bit extreme and certainly not for everyone. It may be a tad thick and pointy for ya. Have you tried the Vpick "STILETTO"? OR maybe the DUNLOP SHARP? If you like sharp picks

I used to use the Green Tortex Sharp (.88) but now all I use is the Switchblade. It IS thicker than what I used for years, but don't assume that because it's what you do/currently are used to, that it is the best pick. I've found that by going thicker than .88, I can play more accurately. To each his/her own of course, but many of the better players agree on that. I'd highly suggest trying the Switchblade buffed.

Switchblade really looks great. Everyone seems to love them. What the difference while playing with a switchblade Buffed and unbuffed ?

No, I never tried the Stiletto but I did try the Dunlop Sharp, it was really cool, but I lost it at school If I can't find something else, I'll get back to these picks

Good question! The Switchblade is my FAV too!

BUFFED = Smooth Edge

UNBUFFED = Less Smooth at Edge

My "Custom" pick is the SWITCHBLADE BUFFED. They didn't come like this at first, but after working with Vinnie at Vpicks, we came up with a BUFFED and SHARP/POINTY version of the swichblade that I just LOVE! It's the pick I wish I had when I was learning alternate picking. It's similar to a training pick I used to use actually. Great for speed, precision. Here is the link to them.

STILLETTO vs SWITCHBLADE

The Stiletto is SMALLER so it might fit your hand better?





BINGO! I've found that about 1.5 MM is my perfect width. It's a variable for each person to figure out what works best. For me it's right at 1.5MM. My fav CLAYTON and VPICK picks are both 1.5 MM. Thicker means less "Flex/bend" which does help IMHO with precision.

Just by looking at them, I prefer the switchblade, the stiletto look really too small. I think I'll get 2-3 Switchblade soon. Todd, can you play on an acoustic guitar with the switchblade ? I'm curious

You most certainly can! Like any new pick, it will take time for you to adjust to, but it allows you to play louder and with less energy.

I ordered a batch of Vpicks a bit ago of various shapes and sizes and thought I'd share a pic. This should give an idea on the size and such of each pick relative to each other.

Yay Stiletto! Although, it looks like I may have to attempt the Euro III. Let me know how it handles(I am pretty sure it is too small for your hands, though).

I prefer the one in the upper right corner, got it in ruby red (medium). Awesome pick for playing agressive punk stuff.
The Switchbalde works good for the video chats and bootcamp missions, but I can't play chords with it.

Hmm. I do like the holes for Grip May ask Vin to cut holes in my next batch of Switchblades!

It's a bit of a nutter for chording. Two string power chord chugging is fine, but chording articulation is it's own animal with that pick. You can get used to it, but if you have a pick that works better all around, stick with it.
