Hey there ! I made a little exercise for those who would like to get cramps in their hands on a regular basis ! biggrin.gif Please download the GuitarPro file below.

You should at no time be picking the string during this exercise, except eventually for the first note ! biggrin.gif

Have fun building strength and stamina in your pinky-finger ! biggrin.gif

Hey man thanks for putting this together! I think this kind of exercise could be considered as a first approach in legato... a next one would be 3 note patterns for finger independence (index-middle-ring, index-ring-pinky etc). For the pinky this is great. I can extend it to the upper octave and to all other strings. cool.gif

Hehe, no problem ! I guess this is a more-or-less basic exercise, but I thought it would be a bit more difficult as they are like trills (only one down stroke for the whole song), and also that the pinky will have to stretch a lot ! Hope someone will find it helpful ! biggrin.gif

Good stuff - I'm sure this will be of benefit to lots of people. I'd describe the lesson more as LH hammer-on/pull-off as that's what you'd need to do to keep the notes ringing clear. Yeah obvious I know but from a beginners perspective it could be a little misleading maybe. It's a nice pinky workout too.
Definately put it in the SI corner as a lesson together with your Aeolian licks. They'll be of great use to everyone.
Well done smile.gif

Thanks, Artemus ! I just thought the motion seems a bit like picking (but with the left hand)... My mistake ! biggrin.gif If I do decide to post it on the Student Instructor board I will be sure to change the title smile.gif Would "Trills" be an appropriate term ? smile.gif

Thanks for all the comments, guys ! biggrin.gif
