Eddie Van Halen had a concert tour to Auckland, New Zealand at the Western Springs Stadium. Throughout the night he rock out loud and the place filled out!!! So the very next morning he decided to say sorry for the noise around the nearby neighbour. Went door to door giving each a personally signed wine bottle and told them in person sorry for any disruption his band might of caused them during the weekend contest! How cool is that?

So what do you known about famous band member(s) which might of never known/released out into the public?

Very nice of him to do that indeed! But I don't think I really understand your question, mate smile.gif Can you please rephrase?

He's asking if there is anything we know concerning a famous band member, that may not be common public knowledge. Maybe something interesting they have done (such as EVH with the wine) or anything else interesting.

For instance. Alex Lifeson's real name Alex Zivojinovich - and a decade ago Alex got into a scuffle during a court case involving the Ritz-Carleton suing his son, Justin Zivojinovich.

This is public knowledge I guess, but not very know it seems.

Rush guitarist Alex Zivojinovich, whose stage name is Alex Lifeson, speaks to the media after being released from the Collier County jail in January 2004. Zivojinovich’s shirt is covered with his blood from what he said was a broken nose he suffered during his arrest New Year’s Eve at The Ritz-Carlton, Naples. On the left is longtime Rush fan Lance Moore, who was on vacation in Naples from Maryland.

Hmmm... don't really know anything groundbreaking in this direction right now... of regarding Van Halen - when he had to record for Michael Jackson, word has it that he refused to come and meet Michael because he was of African American descent, so he recorded as we record nowadays - from a great distance and sent the tapes smile.gif Legend? Truth? I have no clue biggrin.gif

Doesn't have to be bad stuff, Alex was just the first person that popped in my mind - and I that circumstance popped into my mind.

This is not really an unknown fact...... especially if you like alex lifeson but he was in an episode of the Canadian comedy 'Trailer Park Boys' and he was totally hilarious laugh.gif He delivers some really funny lines. I must have watched that episode about a dozen times.
Lifeson is the man cool.gif

Alright here another.. some bad dirt... but most people are unaware of...

Nirvana - On Seattle police's re-examination of Kurt Cobain's death in 1994, they found a hand written note in the wallet.

'Do you Kurt Cobain take Courtney Michelle Love to be your lawful shredded wife.' <--- Love that bit.

It however then goes on to say, 'even when she's a b**** with zits and siphoning all (your) money for doping and w***ing'.

They believed he was unhappy with the marriage at that time, couldn't escape from the drugs and wife spending of his cash... which could of added to his reasons for the suicide. When your extremely rich and famous, it's gets harder to tell who's just using you... you can even start to question your own marriage and friends, it's pretty sad. R.I.P.

After Chris Cornell met all 3 of RATM's band members (except Zack of course) and Audioslave was born,
they wrote their first 21 songs in 19 days. That's pretty amazing.

Wow! What a great interview that was. Thanks for sharing that Ken! I did not know Eddie had contributed free of charge as a favor to Quincy Jones. You know you are doing something right when a legend like that calls you on the phone out of the blue to ask you to contribute to one of his projects, and a double bonus to record on one of the late great Micheal Jackson's albums. What a great story!

Wow! There was a TREMENDOUS chemistry between these folks.. Too bad they didn't last, but to be honest, I loved ALL three albums - I mean, I don't think there was one bad song in there biggrin.gif Definitely one of my favorite bands!

I once played a gig at an outdoor festival in Dorset. One of the security guys (only a young guy) loved our stuff and started talking about how he was working security at some big country house somewhere (it might have been in Wiltshire, not sure) and half way through the night, Metallica show up ! Apparently, whenever they come to the UK, they go and stay at this place (so he told me, anyway).

He said they even went up onto the outdoor stage and bashed out a few tunes. I wish I had asked the name of the place to commit to memory !

Ok so this one might only interest the older guys and girls here.

Fergal Sharkey (lead singer of The Undertones) had to big solo hits in the 80's

A good heart (these days is hard to find)

You little theif, you little liar

Both of these songs were written by Benmont Tench (Keyboard player in Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers)

The first while in a relationship with Maria McKee, the 2nd after the relationship ended!
