Hi Tom,

We are working on this lesson at the mentoring program so you already now my thoughts about this. Just to summarize I'd like to say that your playing shows a very important progress and that you are on the right track. The next step is to polish some of the licks of this one to make it sound closer to the original and to improve your playing.

The parts that require more attention are:

- The slides (sound) - 00:17
- The faster legato ascending lick (timing) - 00:23
- Your bending (pitch) - 00:24

So isolating this sections will be a good idea.

Besides this, the following step would be to make your timing even tighter and dedicate some more attention to dynamics.

Hey there! Aside from Gab's observations I would like to add that you also need to work on even picking strength for each note (do not misunderstand it with flat dynamics) Some notes are simply being played way to soft - they disappear in the mix. Also....you have to be very carefull when you vibrate notes on E1 string - they tend to go a bit too high with the pitch. That's a very nasty string for getting it to sound right pitch-wise while adding some articulation suff.

My personall, subjective advice would be to recheck a few times for perfect pitch on the highest frets. In case of lesson liek this one you play much more on the fret's around or above 12th. It's good to simply check if you can tune the guitar so the mostly used frets will tune most perfect

Anyway...watching your while progress gives some good perspectives - great job

Hi Tom. You're getting really good. I remember your earlier rhythm lessons and now you're already tackling lead playing - and doing a pretty good job of it as well.

Timing is generally even so no complaints there.

The two main things that will make your performance noticeably better is:

-Evenness of note velocity - some notes are too soft so it's a case of monitoring your picking, making sure you pick with enough clout to ensure the notes sound as strong as each other.

-That string bend, which Gab also pointed out. It's not reaching the pitch currently so some work on string bending is in order. It'll take some time to increase your finger strength until you can get the correct pitch but this is something you need as a player any way so it should already be a part of your overall practise.
