Fluorescent light bulbs are pretty cool, though a bit expensive. However, in the long run, they can prove more cheaper then halogen lights, plus they don't generate heat so umbrellas and other strob-based reflectors can be used (they are cheaper).

Here's an example of one 50$ 100W bulb, which is around the same brightness as tungsteen 400W



Connecting them to a line or circle based array is interesting idea as well, and can be a cool DIY project smile.gif

You know.. here in my country we are having several energy problems and the idea of the government is that everybody only uses this lights in the near future. Nowadays I have just a few ones...

Nah, we don't really have them except in the kitchen - long ones.

I prefer bright bulbs.

Yeah, a bit too much, but it's 100W fluo bulb, it's very powerful, and lasts more then halogen, plus it doesn't generate heat.
