Edit: New version with volume changes up! ^^^ Hey Guys, heres my newest tune! Its a 12 minute epic with LOTS of different parts mingled in! Please give the whole thing a listen as some of the best parts are at the end The solo from 1:25 to 1:44 was done by Ben Higgins (amazing solo !!!) The section from 4:08 to 4:27 is a section that Cosmin Lupu is going to solo over! (Cant wait for his take Done in REAPER with: Superior Drummer Quad Tracked Guitars - Pod X3 Live Bass - Pod X3 Live Keyboards - Absynth 4 (Solos composed in Guitar Pro) I really hope you guys enjoy this song! Its 95% done, except for a few drum fills, re-tracking of bass during a couple parts etc. Any and all feedback appreciated! Beginning is excellent, love the synth solo. The guitar tone is pretty wicked, I think it could be brightened up a bit though (personal preference). The quick little fill seems a bit high in the mix (one before the solo.)
And the two back to back solos are way different in levels, the first one is lower, and the second one is just right. The riff after that is awesome, plain and simple. At about 3:00 now, all the riffs are great. Although it seems the riff is dropping level on the single notes being played around 3:10 or so, just a tad. Next synth solo is cool as well. 4:30 - 4:50, love these riffs. Layers are great. The riff after 4:50 is awesome as well, a perfect epic chorus. Solo at about 5:30 is great, short and sweet. Riffs after it are very Petrucci-ish, I love it. 7:22, disgusting sounding riff. and I mean that in a good way, it just sounds dangerous. 9:50, Solo enters beautifully. 11:00 - 11:42, Song exits perfectly. All in all, its quite an amazing song. But it needs vocals I think, its begging for them. |

Haven't had a chance to listen but possibly due to pumping. If it is check and adjust compression settings. This is a great composition Tyler, you really are a great guitar player. And of course, as always, a fantastic solo from Ben

Nice! As I've said before, you freakin RAAAAWWWWKKKK!
** When you go to do the final mix, you might assign something to the drum bus (assuming you have them all tracked and send to the same bus) to give them some air and punch. The SSL drum strip comes to mind, which is a free to use demo, or the BBE plugin, etc. EZ drummer / Superior drummer / BFD all have a very distinct sound that tends to give it away as software drums so punching it up a bit and making it your own is never a bad idea.
