I could not find thlink ,but on KPTS I watched a special on the making of a samuri sword , and it was cool
a true samuri sword will sell these days for six figures and in the old days they rated them 1 2 3 4 or a 5 ( this refers to how many torso's it could cut in one swing)and in this a real samuri-sliced an arrow shoot at him in two(freakin awsome)oh ya they showed it in slow motion and he did!

any way back to the theme of this thread
does having 1 wife ,2 boys , and 5 daughters count as living life dangerously ohmy.gif

As I wrote a little earlier biggrin.gif you should check out a thing or two about a famous blade, forged in the 13th century if I'm not mistaken, by the swordsmith Masamune. The blade is called Honjo, and it still exists today. It also has a beautiful legend sown around it smile.gif look for it biggrin.gif

For those that don't know what it is:

I enjoyed watching this. Very nice. And very cool.
This is more some kinda new art that has come up.

I'm not brilliant with heights.. but I'd rather be looking down than looking up. I get this weird sensation when I'm stood next to a really tall building. I cannot look up because it feels me with fear and makes me feel unbalanced like the sky is falling on me and the earth is falling away behind me. Does anyone else get this ? ohmy.gif

No I haven't

But my skydive instructor has height sickness. But the thing is when your are standing in the doorway of a plane at that height she said she didn't feel the high sickness any more. Nice to know isn't? So just try it.
She felt it only on more "normal" heights like standing on a 10 stairs building, that is "close" to the ground so to speak.

I know scuba divers who where diving over a riff and that suddenly goes steep down for more than 100 meter and they suffered height sickness at that time looking down

Yes, it's quite a misunderstood art. You need good upper body strength with endurance legs. Leg's are also trained to be in sync and with precision jumping. You notice most people lead with one leg as they jump, we jump and plant with both while mantaining balance with the upper body, then normally relax rolling into the shoulder to take off the impact.

Good God biggrin.gif I love this stuff biggrin.gif are you good at it?? biggrin.gif

Nope, lol, when I was 13, attempted to flip off a friend's one story house roof onto a tramp. After the bounce off the tramp your spos to jump and roll onto the ground, however I misjumped and just went splat! I broke my tibus leg bone doing this stuff.

I still have a love for all extreme sports!

Well I put a staple through my index finger a couple of years ago while hanging up the holiday Christmas lights. Ouch! Not sure if that qualifies as a hobby but I'd hate to see what a table saw could do to the un-attentive. My other hobby/activity is golf which really isn't very hazardous unless the rest of your foursome is really bad. tongue.gif And then there's motorcycling. Even though I miss my bike, I'm kind of glad I sold it cause I tend to have an over active wrist biggrin.gif which was getting me into trouble.

I like to watch TV tongue.gif, and as we all know watching TV is the most dangerous activity in the world...

But other than that I have started to work-out recently, and if I'm an idiot or something I can get serious injuries.
So at the moment I don't have any "special" hobbies, except watching TV of course, I mean, who does that wicked stuff?

I got a HUGE giggle out of this post. smile.gif Having grown up in the states, in the South in particular, guns have always just sort of been around. Seems almost un-natural not to have at least one so you can go shooting with your buddies wink.gif Otherwise you have to rent one at the gun range and who wants to do that?

Good call! That'll up the game a bit next time I'm at the range.

1.)Face Shots Only
2.)They only count if you hit the little man in the left corner.
3.)Loser buys every round fired.

P.S. Nice Pump 12! Are you shooting slugs or shot?

Those are some good rules, I'll keep them in mind next time biggrin.gif

The name of that 12 gauge cracks me up, its called the Mossberg "Persuader" laugh.gif I can just imagine what a TV advert would sound like, "The Persuader... for when verbal warnings aren't enough." tongue.gif

My choice of ammo depends on what I'm using it for. When I'm at the indoor ranges I like to use 3 inch magnum slugs and/or 00 buckshot, for two reasons:

1- To get accustomed to the MASSIVE recoil - if I can handle that I can handle anything biggrin.gif
2- The sound concussion is so enormous everybody stops what they're doing. This is done usually in retaliation to the dude in the adjacent lane with the high caliber revolver... "Whose is bigger now bitch?! ...bahahaha!!" Yes, I'm an enormous ass. I denounce and reject myself tongue.gif

Sounds like you are riot on the range smile.gif Bringing double ought buck out for target practice. Nice! If you lived closer we could go shooting! I think we should invite our GMC buddies over from Europe for "Gun Day" and cut them all loose on the range with our gear. smile.gif Now that would be fun!

For those not living in the states. You don't need a license or anything to shoot guns on a range. You can shoot pretty much anything anybody hands you which is great and one of the wonderful things about the states smile.gif So usually when you go shooting with buddies, you swap guns and try everything at least once.
