Hey smile.gif

I finaly sold my 1960 Vintage Box, because it was after all just too loud for home practice. I am now searching for a smaller Box for my 205h JVM head. Can anyone recommend some good boxes? smile.gif

Greetings and thanks in advance;)

I guess you are out for a cab with a vintage 30 speaker like in your vintage cab...

Personally I think there isn't really a diffrence in loudness between 1x12 and 2x12 (the amp is giving the output level so you might wanna cut it's power down with an attentuator) and therfore I would buy a 2x12 for the following resons:

-amp head fits on top
-fuller sound because of the second speaker
-just the right size: not to big for home use, big enough for gigs and rehearsals

I would suggest this cab by Framus, my bandmate plays his JVM through this one at home and at practice and it sounds great + it's fairly cheap for V30 cab!

Yeah I would recommend 2x12 as well, it's a good balance, and you can stack the head on top of it. Something with Celestions in it will do the job nicely, but I suggest trying other speakers to se differetn voicings if possible. It may be a good idea to go with the head into the store and plug it into several of them to see how it sounds if you can do that.

Engl cabs sound good but there are definitely better ones considering the price you have to pay for an Engl cab (bogner,Orange, Mesa Boogie...). Also Engl cabs are quite heavy!

Bogner cabs are great, even better than Engl in my opinion smile.gif
