Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: The Voice Of Your Guitar by Cosmin Lupu

Wow this was harder than I thought...
To Cosmin I can only say sorry that this take was delayed by the fact that I suck ^^.
I am new to this lead/solo stuff and all of these bends and vibratos where quite a thing to handle!
While recording I usually messed up one bend here and one vibrato there and since I am not very patient with myself, I almoast smashed my (poor and innocent) keyboard^^
This take is far from perfect, I know that, but it was the best I could came up with today and I didn't want to delay this lesson any further, so here it is :

-Dave

Edit: The video should work now!

Hi mate! It's good to be passionate with guitar practice but I think that you should be more patient and enjoy more this process. After all, there is always something new to practice and learn if you dedicate to guitar, so we are used to be more time playing things that we can't play than the ones that we play good, even more in the first years. So my main recommendation here is to start to let it flow, repeat the lesson many times every day, work on other lessons (we can guide you in this process) and relax, with the pass of days you will be amazed of how your playing improves.

Regarding the take, you don't need me to say that is has many pitch issues, most of your bends don't reach the correct intonation, and your guitar is a bit out of tune.

That's all, keep on working and enjoying! wink.gif

Indeed it's not a race and no one demands to make things fast smile.gif Give yourself some time, enjoy the playing, turn the whole solo into pieces and try to ask yourself a lot of questions like "why this is not working". Details, details adn details once again. It's great choice of lesson. I'm sure You can handle it.

P.S We speak of a particular moments - especially in the second half because Your playing is not that bad at all. I would even say it's pretty nice smile.gif Just a few moments in this solo took attention because of the pitch issues. Consider one more option - headphones. Sometimes tuning issues are coused bt not enough volume of the backing , as a reference for tune smile.gif

Hey Dave! smile.gif

The guys have spotted important aspects and those revolve especially around the pitches and the note length. This is definitely not the kind of piece that you can nail in a few days, so take some time to internalize it and interpret it. Patience is a very important aspect and if you are racing against anyone here, you are bound to lose. Smell the flowers mate, feel the wind on your face and practice slowly to enjoy the music and its details.

Please focus on pitches, note length and vibrato wideness and consistency smile.gif

Keep rocking!

Cosmin
