Hey guys! I am excited to start a new collab!!!
It's a funk blues and it has some very cool changes!
A7-D7-C#mi7-F#7-G#mi7-B7-E7
A7-D7-C#mi7-F#7-B7-E7-E7
TEMPO IS 94BPM
You can play:
A major pentatonic

E major pentatonic

D major pentatonic

It would be really cool if you can play chord tones included in your solo!
Here is an example:
A7 chord structure:
A-C#-E-G
Find a structure for other chords and try focusing on chord tones if you want to make all the changes!
You can play any of those chord tones but the most important are 3 (C#) and 7 (G)

You have got two weeks to send your takes!
I am looking forward to hear you play!!!
Please send me PM if you have any questions!
Nice backing! Really changes around so this should make for some interesting ideas. I've never consciously worked out chord tones so I look forward to trying that out!
This is pretty tricky to play over.
You pretty much have to change on every chord to a new box/scale
Any tips Alex? I'm struggling to keep up. And can't get my teeth into it.
Good challenge thou!
Hey Alex,
I'll give it a shot!
Cheers

Unfortunately I cant record to the backing track because my jm4 wont play mp3, and until I get the money for my br 800 together, Im stuck recording to the metronome
Lixxx_metro.WAV ( 4.94MB )

Lixxx_no_metro.WAV ( 4.94MB )

Alllllright hope you like it,

Alex
next collaboration can it be "beginner friendly" so I may join?
Carmine
Ok, here is my take! I had to take a different approach than usual to work this solo out. It was some good experience!

Hey alex,
not sure when the actual deadline is, but here's my stuff. If we have a couple more days I'd work on it a bit more. I'm still figuring out the recording part of it.
Cheers!
C.
Awesome!
I'll work on it more and post another take (hopefully a better one ) on Sunday.
Hey alex!
I'm finally done!!!
I had to readjust the tracks, for some reason the guitar recording would be out of synch with the back track by 1/2th of a second, took me a while to figure it out, I thought I was playing it wrong or something
Cheers!

Here is the completed track!

First solo is played by:
Cassien
You did a very nice job! I like your sound and your ideas were great! There were a few timing issues and it seemed like at some point you ran out of the ideas, but than you brought it back!
I can suggest learning new licks and do some pentatonic and arpeggios combination it will help you develop solos better and have it from the beginning to the end!
Second solo played by:
DeGroot
You did an amazing job! I was impressed! You had a great sound and I could hear the idea from the beginning till the end!
Some licks were out of time and a few notes were out of tune! It will come with more experience and you are definitely on the right track! I really liked your ideas with arpeggios and mixed scales and pentatonics! Very nice!
Third solo played by:
Lixx
Very nice and melodic take! I liked it a lot! I liked your sound and licks were very nice!
there was a few timing issues, but I think if you will keep practicing with a metronome it will be an easy fix!!!
You had some cool combinations of pentatonics! Very very good!!!
Thank you everybody for joining! New collab is coming soon! See you there!
Thanks Alex, that was a fun collab!
Good job everybody, really cool solos!!!!
