The Pianist
(Verse) These ancient hands Sludge across the keys To hear what he hears You have to see what he sees And as the notes boom They rattle and ring The song kicks in He starts to sing (Chorus) The chorus begins And hearts start to break The pace speeds up His hands start to shake But he always pulls through This wonderful song You realize life’s good You realize you’re strong (Verse) The room becomes his The world his own Lost in a melody He’s all alone He closes his eyes And drifts away His ghostly hands Just know what to play (Chorus) The chorus begins And hearts start to break The pace speeds up His hands start to shake But he always pulls through This wonderful song You realize life’s good You realize you’re strong (verse) And on the day That he passed away I opened the coffin And there he lay While on one knee I hummed his caprice And repeated the words “Rest in Peace” © Ryley Gortshore 2008 ------------------------------------ So I wrote these lyrics tonight as a tribute to Jeff Healey. He was a truly great man and one of my biggest inspirations in life. I didn't quite know how to put it until I read The Uncreator's new lyrics and was inspired by the first stanza. Hopefully he doesn't mind  Anyways, here they are, not my best work, but they were completely in the moment as I was still in shock from Jeff's death. RIP

Now I had never even heard of the guy, pardon my ignorance, I'm never much concered for famour or semi-famous peoples deaths, it does after all, happen to everyone... Having said that however, I found that the feeling behind these lyrics was really strong and I think these are easily the best lyrics you've posted here. It just knitted together superbly well and was very convincing.
