* You haven't missed my latest video lessons, have you?

* Oh and did you know that to become a killer guitarist you just need to focus on one thing? Everything
else is secondary. Pm me and I will explain.

Too old to be this bad at guitar cool.gif

I've tried another take. I think it's better in terms of less ringing notes and crisper chord changes. I hope so anyway !

My sound quality isn't great because I just have a cheap pc mic going into my laptop. I do have a Presonus Firebox and some decent mics but my laptop doesn't have a firewire port so I think I'm stuck with the pc mic hanging in front of my amp. I also adjusted the intonation of my guitar so hopefully it will sound less out of tune.

I hope this is worth an extra half point so I can move on and learn something new tongue.gif Come on man....it is my birthday after all smile.gif

This is definitely better! The chord changes are clear and the notes are definitely much more defined than the last time smile.gif so I think you can get start working on another, but do not leave this one unattended biggrin.gif rehearse it at least once or twice each day and try another take after some time smile.gif you will have a surprise most certainly.

You were telling me about another lesson you were tackling smile.gif which one was that?

Cosmin

PS: why don't you post this again in the RC section? It'll get a good grade for certain biggrin.gif

If the blues lesson has some lead playing in it, I would be curious to see how you're dealing with it smile.gif if not, please let me know, as I'd like to know how your lead playing is, thus I'll point you to a lead oriented lesson at your level!

What do you think?

Goordmornin' mate!

How about choosing between these:

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...loing-beginner/

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...nner-solo-in-d/

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/blues-solo-in-D/

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...loing-beginner/

I think they encompass a lot of important techniques and they can develop your skills!

Tell me which one you like and find close at hand for learning, so we shall focus on that one smile.gif

cheers

Cosmin

Ok mate, let me know when you got the chance to go through the whole lesson so we can discuss details, like bends and other articulation elements which are very important in this genre! biggrin.gif

My fingers are sore ohmy.gif

It's not too bad. I'm fairly OK up until the last lick before the turnaround. That's quite fast for me and I'm struggling with the timing even when I slow it down.

Take your time man! I'd rather have you take a wee bit more time and get things done awesomely than rush and not get the good stuff going biggrin.gif slow is ALWAYS good biggrin.gif and another thing, have you tried to sing the lead parts?

It's the fast bit on video 7 until the end that I'm having trouble with. At the moment I can just about play it at 45 bpm which is half speed. The rest of it I am OK with and can play at normal speed.

Have you got any tips for me to get this ? Going from 45 to 90 bpm seems a long way away mellow.gif

Well if you increase 3 beats per minute every day, and get to play that phrase 3-5 times in a row, you'll handle it very well in a relatively short period of time. 45 divided by three means 2 weeks. Here's what I suggest: record a take with everything up to the nasty lick and work on it for two weeks, by increasing 3 BPM/ day so that you may nail it right. Don't increase unless you can control everything perfectly, k?

Are we ready? biggrin.gif
