Hello GMC!

I concocted a slide like lick for this week and here it is below:

So, for this one your vibrato and bending skills shall be the main focus - the lick is played using notes from the G mixolydian scale as well as a b3rd which is discretely implemented - check out the Example track as well.

I used it as an introduction to the track, starting on the last 8th note: 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &

G mixolydian

Tab:

E E E E E E E E Q. E Q. E E E E H E
E||---------------------------|----------------------------|----------------------------||
B||-----------------------13--|--Lb~------12--Lb~------11--|--Lb------------------------||
G||---------------------------|----------------------------|------12--10--Lb~--------L--||
D||---------------------------|----------------------------|----------------------------||
A||---------------------------|----------------------------|----------------------------||
E||---------------------------|----------------------------|----------------------------||

Chords used: G5 F5 D5 C5 C5 Bb5

Benefits:

- improving bending and vibrato
- being able to emulate slide playing with the aid of vibrato
- developing your blues vocabulary

Assignments:

- record the lick as it is recorded in the example (as many times as you'd like on the backing track) emphasizing on the best slide emulation possible!

Deadline: February, 9th

let's rock!

Cosmin
