GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Lesson In The Style Of Deftones

Posted by: nawak Dec 24 2011, 11:01 PM

Hey guys! :-)

I noticed that there is no lesson in the style of Deftones on GMC.

I believe they are one of the greatest sounding neo-metal band, using lots of cool dissonant chords giving some interesting colours to the sound (as opposed to the simple traditional and predictable sounding power chords or 5th chords, over-used in Metal music for example..)

Anyway, just a suggestion..

Talk soon! :-)

That's a cool suggestion Nawak. I'm not that into Deftones, but perhaps other instructors are more expert in this field. Let's see.

He is MOST DEFINITELY into Deftones biggrin.gif and he WILL do it! biggrin.gif In my opinion Diamond Eyes is one of the best stuff they came up with, when I thought they could not bring the standard higher!

Just put it on the list and it shall be done mate!

Glad to hear it! biggrin.gif I'd love to learn some different chords. hehe You could use a 7 string if you wanted- I guess you still have it? I wish I had a 7 string. lol.

I don't have the K7 anymore - sold it last year, but I'll use the baritone in the same tuning as for the Breaking down drop A lesson biggrin.gif It's like having a 7 string with a missing high E string wink.gif

Yes, I agree with Gabriel, the White Pony is absolutely mind-blowing and definitely my favorite as well :-)

That being said, Around the fur and Diamond eyes are also 2 great albums without the shadow of a doubt ;-)

Looking forward to it! ;-)
