Check this out! I tried it on my buffed switchblade v-pick just now and it literally took me 10 seconds. My carpet isn't as course as that either so it should work!

haha I know eh? It definitely makes it a lot easier, and great for those who want to experience a sharper pick without having to go and find some!

This is how I always sharpen my picks... there are a lot of purple lines on the carpet.....

Yes, this is surely the best and easiest way to sharpen your picks - I learned this trick a few years ago and it helped me save quite some money since my picks last a lot longer!

WOW. This is CRAZY! I thought people were joking! Get something sharp and carve up a nice point on your pick I still have to carve up my claytons but better yet BUY SOME POINTY/SHARPISH PICKS FOLKS!
*P.S If the Switchblade/jazz/dunlop sharp isn't sharp enough, you can sharpen it a bit by shaving the edge with fine blade. I"ve done some of mine that way.
Dunlop Sharp Jazz III Jazz III XL Best of all V-Pick SWITCHBLADE (heck, any sharp V-pick will do ya!)

haha, I have your V-picks! When they get dull, I sharpen them - they're so good I need them to last as long as possible!

Are these V picks really that awesome?

I really like the tone, and it sounds nice on my acoustic too. Plus I also recently switched from a medium pick to a thick pick so I may also be biased because of the plain fact that it's thicker!

I hear ya The carpet does seem a tad unusual but it sounds like lots of folks do it that with good results so whatever works I use a carving knife to sharpen picks and it creates a very edge. But it does involve using a sharp knife and you could accidently cut your fingers while trying to do it which would be really counterproductive. So stay safe, keep it on the carpet!

The short answer is YES But they aren't for everyone, some folks really don't like em. Some folks like different shapes than I use as well. I couldn't stand the triangle shape, but Christian (from here) loves em! They are worth a shot if you can try them
