Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Slayer Style (Beginner) by Lian Gerbino

I tried so hard to get Lian's sound on a Boss ME-25 but this was the best I could come up with. Bogdan sent me a BT with only bass and drums so both guitar parts on here are mine. My Jackson is being set up, so I used my Ibanez. I also tried to get the "Lian look" but my wife was pretty against me painting my nails black.... so I improvised there too.

hahaha those improvised nails! tongue.gif tongue.gif
You tone is really close to the original lesson. The problem with this take is the timing. You are a bit before the beat in many parts so you should concentrate on playing tighter when you are doing the palm muting riffing. If you improve this you'll have a flawless take. smile.gif

Cool nails smile.gif
I like your take and your guitar sound is very good!
I think the only thing that needs some work is you timing
Use a metronome to practice this lesson slow and you will get it in no time!

Hey Jon! As the guys said, you have to sync with the track and that will be done once you lock in with the drums at a slower pace and work your way up. The tone is very good and the take can go up for a ten biggrin.gif

meet me in your thread and we can discuss this wink.gif

cheers

Cosmin
