Task 11: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...ll-offs-lesson/
Ok young warriors, have no fear.. it looks a lot worse than it is ! The hardest part will probably be memorising it This is purely focusing on pull offs so it will work on your finger muscle control, which will help your overall legato. The good news is that I'm not expecting you do this at full speed so please just choose a tempo that is manageable enough for you. If you come through the other side of this in one piece I may even give you something musical like a solo to learn next time.... Oops, nearly forgot.. Deadline next Thursday 12th April or I remove an entire foot. That will make getting round The Temple a little difficult. This post has been edited by Ben Higgins: Apr 5 2012, 07:10 PM |

By the Beard of Zeus, that's a lot of pinkie action! I can feel the lactic acid building already

Good stuff again Ben. Because this technique is quite hard to master, it'a good to stay on it for a while. Feeling the Challenge.

I've tried this lesson because I have difficulties with the intermediate Task 10 and 11 because of the pull-offs. So I'm trying to work on those two levels at the same time. It's kind of a torture for the fingers... But I love it If you could please comment, that is always encouraging. Just keep at it and try and see if you can make some speed increases by next week |

Mr Ben here are my attempts. I had a go at full speed and got through it a couple of times but it wasn't pretty. Pretty cool lesson. I feel I've moved forward with the legato in these recent weeks.
Cheers Ben. http://soundcloud.com/zoomify/pull-offs-lesson-104bpm http://soundcloud.com/zoomify/pull-offs-lesson-120bpm |

Hey Ben,
thanks for your comment. I've been working on this lesson all the week. I can't play it at 145 bpm. Here is a take at 120 bpm. I tried to be as even I could at this speed. Not sure it will be enough to keep a foot though À bientôt. http://soundcloud.com/grindguer/120-pull-offs-lesson/s-AoBKd Zoom, I think your guitar is not in tune. You seem to be a half step too high... You just have to redo a take now Cheers. -------------------- Million-to-one chances crop up nine times out of ten.

These are good.. you don't seem to have a problem keeping up with the tempo. If anything, you slightly rush in front most of the time. It sounds like you're releasing to the pull offs just a tiny bit too early.. but that's all. You've got the stamina ! Really pleased you feel some improvements. When we target underused areas we notice results quite quickly. Hey Ben, thanks for your comment. I've been working on this lesson all the week. I can't play it at 145 bpm. Here is a take at 120 bpm. Just a little rushed with the timing. If you force them into time it makes those little piggies work harder as well Good job, you keep your foot this week ! Du Pain. Du Vin. Du Boursin ! |

Hi Sensei, this is my first task, as i have recently arrive to the Bushido. I know that i'm far from the rest of the disciples but i'm gonna do my best.
I couldn't manage the backingtrack available at the lesson so i made my own 'backingtrack-metronome-headsmasher' at 80bpm. I know the take isn't perfect, but i'm very happy since I have made great improvements in my pull-off technique during this days. 80bpm http://soundcloud.com/jorge-fern-ndez/100-pulloffs P.D: I expect to keep my two feet cause i need them quite often |

All disciples are welcome to our icy, mountain lair regardless of how far they are on their own personal journey. Right, on to your take. Very good. You're going to laugh but I'm going to say the same thing to you that I said to Zoom and GrindGuer about their takes. You pull off just a tiny, tiny bit too early which gives the impression of rushing against the beat. Try leaving the finger on a bit longer (it's a fraction, but it does make all the difference). Forcing the fingers to stay in time makes them work harder and get stronger too. I'm glad that you've noticed improvements, that's fantastic. And yes, your feet are safe |
