Hey all!

I'm a 39 year old from Monterey, Ca finally ready to step up my chops. I've been playing off and on for decades, but just got stuck and bored and been there for awhile.

To cure the doldrums, I bought a steel guitar and have been trying to learn open tunings with the slide, big fun! And also strengthen my basic acoustic skills. But, then I went and bought a vintage series 62 Strat with a big payday I had coming, and now I'm ready to tackle that which has aluded me......lead guitar.

I have some strength due to playing acoustic, and love to practice.......I just need to know what to practice!

My musical tastes are as varied as they get.....From Clapton to Lennon, Johnny Cash, Metallica, Beatles, Allman Bros, Robert Johnson, Pink Floyd, Eagles, Sublime.......if it's good, I'm into it!

I ramble...........I hope to meet many other aspiring riffers here and welcome any and all feedback, tips or general words of support!
