GMC Forum _ Collaborations _ Completed : Gary Moore Ballad Collaboration

Posted by: Ivan Milenkovic Jul 3 2008, 04:59 PM

Hey guys, I came to idea to do a Gary Moore ballad collaboration. Are you up for it?

I realize it is time of holidays, but must have something to keep you busy during summer days, or you will neglect guitar too much for girls and beach. wink.gif

I don't know if I shgould post in here, but the Upload thread, it says "collab open till the 25th of june"

Posted by: Tjchep Jul 3 2008, 06:01 PM

Mind if I ask what the Chord progression is?

Posted by: Ivan Milenkovic Jul 3 2008, 06:05 PM

Of ocurse not it is Am Dm G C F B E7

Posted by: Andrew Cockburn Jul 3 2008, 06:06 PM

Mmmmm - tasty backing track - sounds just like "Still got the Parisienne Walkways" wink.gif My favourite GM tracks!

Posted by: Slammer Jul 3 2008, 06:12 PM

I believe this song is in 12/8 time, Does anyone know what Tempo it's in.

Posted by: Ivan Milenkovic Jul 3 2008, 06:15 PM

I know biggrin.gif It's 4/4 60bpm (you have a bar precount )

Posted by: Ivan Milenkovic Jul 3 2008, 06:19 PM

Thanks Andrew! It'll be my pleasure to have you on the collab smile.gif

PS the backing is made for my new lesson Gary Moore Style, so I tried to nail the "Still got the Parisienne Walkways" vibe. smile.gif

Posted by: Slammer Jul 3 2008, 06:21 PM

Thanks Ivan! I'll have mine up in a couple days... sorry for making all these posts on the upload thread sad.gif

Posted by: Caelumamittendum Jul 3 2008, 06:59 PM

Cool man! Allows some work on modes as well, I geuss. I'll be looking into this during the next 10 days or so. Have to get home first and all.

Posted by: kaznie_NL Jul 3 2008, 07:21 PM

Count me in! I'll record after my holiday, so that's very much in time. Nice again here Ivan. I like Gary Moore, I hope I can create something nice for this one!!

You got it wink.gif

Posted by: Caelumamittendum Jul 3 2008, 11:02 PM

Is that a B or Bm before the E7 in the progression? Maybe my ears fool me, but it sounds more like Bm to me :S

Posted by: Andrew Cockburn Jul 3 2008, 11:09 PM

Bm7b5

Posted by: Caelumamittendum Jul 3 2008, 11:12 PM

Yeah, I can hear that now, no doubt. But that means I got something right...right? tongue.gif That it's not a B...

Posted by: Caelumamittendum Jul 4 2008, 12:43 AM

I'll keep the comments on the current takes in here, while not having anything to upload. OrganisedConfusion: That was very, very tasteful playing! I really enjoyed that!

Posted by: Jenkinson Jul 4 2008, 12:59 AM

No not the new guitar still the Jackson, still waiting for the new one to arrive, anyday now rolleyes.gif biggrin.gif

Posted by: Ivan Milenkovic Jul 4 2008, 01:18 PM

I simplified chords. I used:

Am7, Dm7, G6, Cmaj7, Fmaj7, Bdim, E7

Posted by: Caelumamittendum Jul 4 2008, 02:52 PM

Well, it was more the B I was concerned about. A Bdim chord...that is a minor chord, right? Has got a minor third anyways. That was why I got a bit confused when trying to modulate into another key on that specific chord. smile.gif Anyways, thanks for clearing that up.
