Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi mate! You did a good job on this one! There are some timing issues here and there but the overall really good. You are getting a good palm muting sound and most of the parts are perfect. Concentrate a bit more on your timing and you'll get a 10 for this one.
Keep on working hard! smile.gif

Hey Tolga, nice take !

Two areas that were noticeable was timing in some places. Overall it was good but in some places it was a bit wobbly. smile.gif

The other bit was those chords at 1:00. You played the shapes as B, B# etc... they are actually meant to be the same chords you were playing before that but what Marcus does is use the index finger to also fret the Low E string which gives you an extra 5th, so it's like a way of extending the E power chord (and the others) to make it sound bigger and fuller.

So try doing that sequence from 0:46 - play the E, E# etc chord sequence with the power chord on the A,D & G strings and use the index finger to also add the note on the low E string. It will basically be barring both the E and A strings so it will always be exactly one fret above the note that you're playing on the A string. I hope this makes some sense.. check the lesson tab again and it should show this smile.gif

Palm muting was great !!

Hey Tolga! Nice one mate, aside from the small imperfections in the timing, I see nothing wrong with this - you have a chunky palm muting technique which is very very good! Give it a bit more time and follow Ben's advice for a straight 10!

Sounds very good!
Nice palm muting! A few timing issues, but if you will work on it a little more it will be perfect!
Good job!

Great shot ! But what I notice is that you are a little weak in alternate picking patterns, and that is the reason of weak timing in certain moments ! Downstrocking is great ! Keep rocking !
