Using an external overdrive pedal sounds like a great idea - I think the overdrives/distortions are the weakest part of the pedal. I currently use a tube screamer first in the chain (before the M13) - what are the advantages of having it in the loop? I know a lot of people do that. Sounds like a great idea, bye bye old pedalboards The advantages of having it on the loop?... well i think, first you don't have to worry to clip the input of the multifx, you can put the overdrive whenver you want, after the compressor and wah, that's very important, you can even experiment and put it and the end of the sidechain maybe, maybe you can even put two instances of the same pedal on the chain thanks for the tips, would be a amazing to have a video review of your amp and the fx working on a controlled well mic'd environment! -------------------- ![]() Check my Instructor Profile Rockers! very nice tune and lesson Kris! I missed your voice a bit tho I liked a lot the melodic feeling behind the shred. if you are boring, doesn't matter how fast you can play, or how difficult you play. this is not the case, you keep a strong melodic feeling through the song, and put a lot of cool chops there Hehe thanks Adrian - I tried to think about that when recording the video (you do a great job yourself!). I have to say I find it to be a pain because if I try to look cool I immediately start to play really bad and sloppy - but I know it will eventually come naturally. hahaha, that's so normal! I bet there's no body who plays perfect and also got a killer presence. well.. now I'm thinking... may VAI be an exception! LOL -------------------- |

Wow so many awesome comments I have missed this thread - thanks guys! =D
The advantages of having it on the loop?... well i think, first you don't have to worry to clip the input of the multifx, you can put the overdrive whenver you want, after the compressor and wah, that's very important, you can even experiment and put it and the end of the sidechain maybe, maybe you can even put two instances of the same pedal on the chain Ah I see - I primarily use my tubescreamer to boost the input so I'll probably keep it there! very nice tune and lesson Kris! I missed your voice a bit tho I liked a lot the melodic feeling behind the shred. if you are boring, doesn't matter how fast you can play, or how difficult you play. this is not the case, you keep a strong melodic feeling through the song, and put a lot of cool chops there Thanks a lot Lian. With my current situation I have had to choose whether to practice guitar or vocals - so the little vocal chops I had are currently gone. However I would like my next guitar project to be a tune built the same way I would do it for vocals - but instead use a guitar, I am excited how it will turn out! hahaha, that's so normal! I bet there's no body who plays perfect and also got a killer presence. well.. now I'm thinking... may VAI be an exception! LOL Yes exactly - Vai definitely springs to mind. This is awesome material, great song, and great mix, sound beefy and punchy! Explanations rule! Thanks a lot Ivan! My intention is to prepare more explanations for Red SHot. -------------------- I do not have any natural talent at all - you can beat me with hard work.
