but she has no ability to do any other vocal style either and considering metal is all about variety - that sucks. So basically every singer who does only one style of vocals suck? I dont follow you Your saying the all the bands you listen to that only do one vocal style, you think there singer sucks? This post has been edited by The Uncreator: Dec 10 2007, 09:31 PM |

Metal Screaming should have a varied pitch at least, she screams monotonously through the entirety of the album, its just a technique that she happens to have mastered.
Theres been no improvement in her abilities since earlier albums, the only thing that has improve about Arch Enemy is the guitar work, to me that stands as lazy and yes, I do find that when metal bands have a singer that just does the one thing that it ends up being rather boring, especially when there is no variation in pitch at all. -------------------- Don't Panic.

Ok, i though you were saying since she could not do Growls AND Clean vocals, she sucked, ok, i see your side of the story now, Although do hear many changes in pitch, this is one topic me and you will always disagree on
At least we agree this is the best high scream in metal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEACzoMJuMA *EDIT* Sorry if i sounded a bit rash in my previous post. Unintended This post has been edited by The Uncreator: Dec 11 2007, 12:38 AM |

Just listened to that last link Uncreator and I gotta say, after all the micky taking that drummers get, the drumming on that is bloomin amazing, they gotta be totally dead after one song
Now if my next door neighbour could drum like that I really wouldnt be as upset about him ruining my Sunday afternoon with his practice session -------------------- |

I do love metal bands with different styles of singing, for example Opeth (Åkerfeldt is just amazing) but I still do like Angela's singing aswell, although it isn't so versatile

Well love Gossow alot, one of my top 5 singers. BUT, Comparing anything to Akerfeldt is like comparing Gold to Dirt almost, there are very few musicians who match Akerfeldts ability to sing growls and clean vocals, and be one of the best guitarists
Yes, im an Opeth fanboy, so is Owen This post has been edited by The Uncreator: Dec 11 2007, 09:22 PM |
