Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Neoclassical Solo For Beginners by Emir Hot

I know the backing track is alittle quiet, but here's my effort. This is my first REC take/lesson on this site. I know this is a pretty commonly done lesson, so I hope you guys aren't too bored of hearing it! Skip to a little over 15 seconds in for the music.

Nice Megadeth shirt ! I'm tempted to give you a 10 just for that wink.gif

It's a great take. Timing is all good and your hand co ordination is good. The vibrato was missing a bit though. One thing that will help you with putting on vibrato, and also with string bending, is introducing more of a sideways angle to your fretting hand so you can get more purchase with bending and vibrato. You don't have to forsake your current hand position, you can just move between the two when you need to.

If you need a bit more help in this area I'm happy to give you some pointers. I made a thread with some videos devoted to this subject that you might find useful

This was a very good take! Like your sound and timing! You still need to work on your vibrato, but it didn't ruin my feelings about your playing smile.gif I will give you 10!

Hey man! Congrats on your first take! As Ben said, your vibrato needs a little bit more working out, but generally you got good timing and consistency. 9 from me as well wink.gif
