Yeah, it happens when we learn something in a wrong way,
damn hard to get rid of it!! Break it in parts, ascending and descending parts maybe, look for first note in every bar and let them be your guide, listen closely to BT and keep straight 16ths, thumbs up! -------------------- Youtube

This is our thread for MTP during October! Since you already started with Alternate Picking Thirds lesson I suggest that we use that one for month/REC assignment, ofc feel free to ask anything you need and post takes of it during month, you don't have to wait whole month to post final take only, more takes-more hints from me. And as for first weekly lets try something a bit mixed, use BT for Em Melodic solo and compose a solo inspired with AP Thirds lesson, use shapes and patterns from that lesson but using proper scales we discussed earlier to fit progression nicely. It doesn't have to be 100% inspired tho but as much as possible would be cool. Let me know if you have problems with any of scales, I'll be pleased to help you with that. And of course I would need a video or audio of that solo after 7 days, ok? After playing tone of notes and to many bad takes this is the best I could make of it and ......it is still not perfect. Looking closely I saw my righthand wasn't at that video. So I did I don;t know how many takes to get in down but still there are wrong notes....it is driving me crazy... I doesn't seems to get right... This is our thread for MTP during October! So here is the other one I did - I don;t know how many takes trying to get it right- , but unfortunately it isn't... because now the webcame didn't start recording at bar one for some reason so I had to full that with some text in the beginning of the video... and yes I didn't play it 100% I give up for today ....(too much frustration....) and try tomorrow to do one that is without errors. -------------------- Gear:

Ohh, I see some MAJOR progress here, MAJOR!!!
Go ahead and compare first half of these 2 takes with those you did earlier in MTP, these are almost 100% perfect in time, well done. I said first half because that's were he have problems, when minor kicks in. All you have to do now is to play minor part of the lesson only, figure out all fingerings and clean up your picking. Play minor part few times and then connect it with major part, trust me, it's gonna take hour or two top since you already did 50% of job by nailing major part, well effort, you are veeeeery close. -------------------- Youtube

Thx Muris,
This feedback is good for my motivation. Will concentrate on the minor scale/fingering and connect that with the major part. Take to you later. -------------------- Gear:

Ohh, I'm not sure if this one would pass for REC,
you pulled minor part quite steady in rhythm but you made some mistake in major part and after that all note were displaced, C note on low E MUST be the first note in each 8 bars, it just must. Can I ask for one more take with better focus on all notes? Otherwise I'm afraid it won't pass. edit: just to clear things up for you, I meant it won't pass for REC which is not the most to continue with MTP tho! And I would also need that last weekly assignment, bends lick, we have broken the deadline a bit. This post has been edited by Muris Varajic: Nov 3 2009, 02:02 PM -------------------- Youtube

Hi Muris Yes I know I have broken the deadline, but I have underestimated my skills on this complete: didn't think it would be as hard as this.(I have pain in my hands form playing up and down up and down from yesterday and today...Guess I have problems to concentrate on this or maybe to much concentration.. I don't know why I mess up) So I thinks this is a really good lesson for me Thing is I also have a tight schedule with work, rehearsal with my band have had a gig last week and this weekend I have had family maters ....so things are hunting me a bit at the moment..do the best I can to keep everyone satisfied Here is the bends lick. Bends licks was played nicely!
There were only 1 or 2 whole tone bends that were not 100% in pitch but you'll nail that soon, no worries. Sorry to hear about your troubles with time, family issues etc, I fully appreciate your effort and I'll try not to give you too hard lessons as we continue with MTP. Feel free to post this (or new one if you have done it) video take in REC, I'll close this topic now and open a new one for November, all good. -------------------- Youtube
