GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ An Argument For Strap Locks

Posted by: NoSkill Aug 17 2010, 05:28 PM

This may have been posted, but this poor guy is the poster boy for "Shoulda Got Strap Locks." The video has an unfortunate title, as the guy is really grooving, imo.

The bassplayers move wouldn't have worked anyways because doing a guitar spin with a bass at that height would have resulted in a broken headstock - the neck of the bass is just too long for that move^^

Straplocks are a MUST HAVE for playing live!!!
I wouldn't even stand up with a guitar on a strap that does not have security locks on it! Not just fancy stage moves can send your instrument flying to the ground, even some slight movements might be enough for your guitarstrap to jump of...

Yeah, that, and don't get stag straps. I was playing once, in the kitchen/no strap locks (but that doesnt really matter here) and the damn strap just broke and my guitar fell to the hard floor.

Yeah

screw stagg

I had few really bad accidents where my bass fell to the floor...Since then I use strap locks on all my basses. Now that guy is pretty funny smile.gif)) Crazy idea to try that with a bass smile.gif

Hey Bogdan,
just try it at one of your next shows! But be sure to video tape it...if a bass player can do such a move, it's gotta be you wink.gif
Never really thought of straplocks until now...

Been there, done that mad.gif ...but even with much less theatrical of a move. Next day I went out and bought some strap locks. Never have been without them since on any guitar.

Crazy move with bass indeed biggrin.gif

I recommend and use Dunlop ones, bullet proof.
