How do you guys do when you want to learn a new style?
Do you figure out special rhythms for the style and what scales you can use and so on?

I just learn a song. If I learn 40 or 50 songs in that style then I eventualy get to know the style.

Yeah, learn songs, exam what you have in there
and you'll get familiar with the style.
But examine as much as possible starting with rhythm section (drums and bass)
then harmonies, lead lines etc.
