GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Putting Mp3 Track On Computer

Posted by: JTaylor Mar 6 2012, 10:02 PM

Instead of putting this in a PM, I decided to post it here, in case anyone else has had the same problem.
An instructor sent me a backing track for me to use but I can't seem to put it on my computer as a file. It is the same with all the collaboration tracks I have looked at also. All I have is a grey bar that will let me play it, but only if I am on that page. Am I doing something wrong? Anyone else encounter this? BTW, if it has anything to do with it, I am using Firefox, version 10.0.2. Thanks!

Hey JT smile.gif

Try this:

* Find a collab.: http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_forum/index.php?showtopic=42731
* Right click the backing track i.e. GvsM_BT.mp3 and select "Save link as.."
* Choose the file-name you'd like, and where you want it to save to on your PC
* Open that file

Hopefully, something like Windows Media Player or whatever your default software is will open it.

To me it sounds like you were opening the backings in the browser.

Worked exactly like you said, even the part about Media Player opening it! Thank you! smile.gif And yep, I was trying to open them in the browser.

No problem, JT. I've made the same mistake before tongue.gif
