GMC Forum _ Bands and Guitarists _ I Love Youtube!

Posted by: rokchik Jan 14 2012, 11:38 PM

Hello GMC!!
This is so stating the obvious but Youtube is such an amazing place to find bands you'd probably never have heard of other wise smile.gif I've found so much great music over the last few years... also helped me find GMC wink.gif Here are a couple I've recently found. Been in a very folky mood lately smile.gif

This band is two young girls from Sweden called First Aid Kit. I think they are in there early twenties and I have to say I am so loving them. Such great voices.

This is Gregory Alan Isakov. Some may know his song "Big Black Car"from a McDonald's commercial. I'm really liking his stuff too.

Hope you like... and share any recent finds as well smile.gif

Youtube is absolutely amazing!!! You can find anything you want on it and if you are lucky enough can get discovered!

YouTube is my new Google search. Its intuitive and you see what you want to see and not read tonnes of text. If it wasn't for YouTube, I wouldn't be a guitarist I am today, I would have perhaps left playing. Its amazing how useful it is for guitarists. Guitarists are usually back shadowed by vocalists in band and you never know of really good guitarist unless you are THE GOD. Every day I discover new talents in YouTube which otherwise would have never come to my knowledge. I love it. smile.gif

Gotta love youtube smile.gif Nice picks btw! I'd never have stumbled across that. Those first gals are so good it sort of shocked me. Wasn't expecting it. Which is what makes it cool smile.gif Here is a band my buddy Matt recorded for his indieatl.com show. They are called SCHOOL OF SEVEN BELLS. It has twin sisters in it. Though one had skipped this tour.

Indeed awesome picks smile.gif I'm using YT for most of my video watching these days. My TV is only on internet and YT, rarely on digital cable. Tutorials, music videos, playlists, whatever I type in, it's there biggrin.gif It's incredible.

I'm glad you guys liked them smile.gif

Todd I really enjoyed that video. I'm gonna have to check out more by them for sure.

And everything you guys have said about YT is so correct. I heard they are even going to be producing their own TV shows now too. Pretty soon everything we do will be online... although I'm almost there now LOL!!
