Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

I really love this lesson and know I'm going to have to do a re-take but I wanted help with the tapped harmonics and the tapping, so I am prepared for getting killed on this but I want to nail this lesson in the future :)

Don't worry it's not that bad but indeed need some work.

Guys will give You more tips so I'll just focus on one that took my attention at first.

When You do the tapping Your right hand looks like frozen. Looks like Your using forearm as a main muscle. Now there are 2 popular ways to get tapping done and both are correct. I will refer to mine since it would most easy to explain.

Tapping can work exaclty like a reversed legato of left hand. You don't hit the fret with while hand. You just move the finger up and hammer on the fret. Tapping will then come from the fingers and wrist muscles - not from the forearm. Try to imagine Your right hands is left hand for a moment. And try to make regular hammer on. To be honest I don't use forearm to make tapping at all.

My hand looks more like a fingerpicking style when playing tapping

Shortcut:
1. Plase You right hand on low strings (like pal muting) if you play tapping on higher strings. When playing on low strings You can place in on guitar's body.
2. Pull up Your tapping finger but keep the rest of fingers in relaxed position (natural = a bit rounded, just like when You try to play piano)
3. hammer on the string
4. pull off using fingers strength

This will do the job.

Hi mate! This is a very demanding lesson and a good choice to work on tapping, tapped harmonics, natural harmonics and mix all those things with rhythms and some fast licks. It has everything!

Each part still needs to be polished but the ones that need it more are the tapped harmonics and the faster licks. So the best would be to work on this sections first and then connect them.

About the tapped harmonics, I think that you are not hitting/tapping the string in best part of the fret when you do the tapped harmonics. I recommend you to check the first parts of this lesson: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Tapped-Harmonics/ and focus on where Sinisa is tapping the frets (closer to the higher crown). The hit / tap must be strong and curt to get the harmonic.

Hey Tom!

Looks like Gabi and Darius already posted a lot of extremely valuable insights on the lesson, so I will just tell you to take it easy. Follow their suggestions at a slow tempo. Make sure that you can play everything relaxed and without worries. Try to play the whole piece over the slow backing tracks and then progress up the ladder, until you reach the full speed, maintaining relaxation, precision, form, articulation and timing. It really does sound more difficult than it actually is, IF you give it time and focus wink.gif
