Guitar gods should take this with a grain of salt, but this one is GOOD (for me at least).
There's a few errors because I was trying to play something that's about 6 months ahead of my skill level, but this one was FUN to jam to. I found a backing track to the ZZ Top song "Tush" with vocals and just started jammin' to it. The riff isn't exactly how they play it because the entire thing was done by memory. The solos were all improved. Solo 1 starts 50 seconds in, and solo 2 starts @ 1:50. It's not perfect, but I think I got the Bill Gibbons vibe in there. I've been playing guitar for about 10 months now. Couldn't even play a scale before GMC! Keep on rockin'! (backing track @ http://www.guitarbt.com/index.php?page=dl_...p;cat=ZZ%20Top) (oh yeah, the reason I disappeared from the forum is because school started up again. I got time to practice but not to post.)

Yeah, I'm still reading up on all this stuff. I switched my major to Physics, and ever since then I've had almost no free time at all between guitar, class, my job, and my fraternity.
Since I've been gone, GMC has gotten so much better. I've been away for almost a month and the site looks completely different now. |

That solo was pretty cool, especially considering you've only been playing for 10 months. The riff however needs some work. I don't know if you can hear it but you don't play the whole riff so you end up getting off time. You start the slide in the end of the riff too early, if you listen to it I'm sure you'll catch it. I can't get the backing track from the site, otherwise I'd record it and show you what I mean. You play the riff perfectly fine otherwise, just make sure you fill out two bars with it before starting over.

Thanks for pointing that out. I knew there was something a little off with the riff but I couldn't figure out exactly what it was.
I re-recorded it and it sounds a lot better now. I think I was coming in about about an 8th of a note too fast each time. There's no point in posting the new recording, but now I've got a better version to show off to my dorm mates. Thanks dude. Keep on rockin' |
