Hey Sonny, thanks for choosing me as your mentor. You mentioned you like Rock, Ballads, Blues, and could work a bit on bending. So I searched and found something that could be a nice lesson to begin with in June. I want you to focus on this lesson for the whole June very thoroughly though, and try to really nail those bends and tones properly. This can help later. I inserted theory assignment too to see how much you understand the music that is being presented here. Let's begin:
Here are June assignments: Assignment number 1: deadline: June 14 task: check out this lesson, and rehearse videos 2 and 3 goal: post an audio recording of these two videos by the end of the deadline Assignment number 2: deadline: June 20 task: check out this lesson, and rehearse videos 4 and 5 goal: post an audio recording of these two videos by the end of the deadline Assignment number 3: deadline: June 26 task: check out this lesson, and rehearse videos 6 and 7 goal: post an audio recording of these videos by the end of the deadline Assignment number 4: deadline: June 30 task: rehearse the whole lesson, request backing couple of days earlier, and record a video of your playing the lesson in normal tempo goal: post the video for REC program grading and review. Theory assignments for June: Answer all the questions bellow: 1. What key this lesson is? 2. What scales can you use over this key? 3. What chords are used in this lesson? 4. Name all chord triads that are in the key of the lesson Let me know if you need assistance!

Regarding bending, take it easy, on slow tempos, with the metronome. It will be OK. The tone I used in that lesson from GuitarRig3, but I'm not sure exactly what I used because I now use GR4 and other software. I think POD Farm is quite capable of producing that tone. Try using TS stomp with some amp to achieve a smooth tone, compress it a bit, and add space, it will be OK. -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE

Take your time my friend, but please keep the schedule on-time, cause providing REC take at the end of the month is crucial for continuing the MTP in the second month. If you do not achieve within the last day of the month, it automatically means you cannot continue.

This is not that bad. Important thing is that you learned the piece. Now it's time to fine tune it. It seems that your guitar is out of tune, so fix that first. Then work slowly on each note, specially every note where there is a bend. Remember - every bend leads to precisely correct pitch, and bended note must be the exact pitch you want. Bending control is something that comes over time, but you should be able to try to get the pitch of every note if you concentrate on those notes.

Hey mate. It's not a problem for me, but according to the current rules of MTP, I'm afraid there is no way you can continue MTP if you do not deliver REC video on 30th of June. The way MTP was defined is that it represents a time of boosted learning for students who apply, so students usually have additional time to dedicate to learning, and can work harder during these 3 months. This is what it is all about.
