My most recent collab is based around LESSON 82 that we just completed. Here is the link to the lesson with Tabs and Guitar Pro files. The licks we worked on in our Sat Vid Chat for this lesson are a great start for thinking about your solo.

Hey Todd, I'm planning to record this tomorrow. Is video needed for the collab mix?

Yes Video please if at all possible It can be very plain video as I'll probably put some filters on all of it for fun
The video doesn't have to be in perfect sync to the audio, just a performance that looks nice. The audio without backing is the crucial bit for the mix itself.

I always say I'm going to submit a collab but I never do. So here goes nothing!
When I think of 80s ballad guitar I think of one word: DELAY
So I title this take "Delay Overload." I hope you can at least use a lick or two out of it, Todd. Thanks for the fun backing.
Man, that is some sexy playing - I love those runs !
It's the power of the hat itsn't it ??

To me the '80s means shameless self indulgence, so here it is :-). (I had a hard time working up the courage to do this after seeing Brandon's). Ibanez S770 into a Fractal Audio AxeFX.

Man is this ever sounding great so far! I'm using all the happy accidents in each solo that layer over top of the other submitted solos and it's yielding some killer results. Unexpected harmony lead sections, contrasting bends, call and response, I'm amazed at how well the layers are working together. It's almost like you guys were pyschic!

Sounds great Todd ! I know that 'happy accident' thing you mean I'm also currently in the process of editing my collab so we're both in the same boat at the moment.... happy editing !!

Here is our final video I used a new approach for me and used the best bits to make a song version. I'm going to make a youtube playlist with this video and all the individual solos as well. Enjoy! Notes to follow!
Happy New Year!

Happy new year GMC!
Really liked your approach on this one Very similar to what I had actually written in many ways. So similar in fact, I just replaced my solo with yours and it worked better!
My goal on this Collab was to make something that folks would bounce their head too even if they weren't playing on it. I usually string out the takes in succession but when I've "Jeep tested" collabs on other musicians/listeners they start to tune out pretty quickly so I wanted to keep them locked in. The good news is that this one Jeep Tested very well!
Happy New year!

COLLAB INSTRUCTOR NOTES: (Also Placed in the lesson thread)
Here is a Youtube Playlist with all the videos from the collab as well as the final. Enjoy!
1.)Dogukan Congrats on a really cool take! I like how you took a rhythmic approach and made use of triad "ish" sounding licks and how you alternated various octaves I used some of your chops to match as a Harmony Lead lick as well. Nice!
2.)Brandon Earman Just killer! Really well played. Your choice of notes/licks/key was spot on and your bends were really tight and focused. Nice!
3.)Christian Killer Hair! Loved your props! Great background as well A lot of nice touches here. Not to mention the tasty chops in your solo! I lead in to your big pull off break and also blended you with some other chops. Your solo is well played and shows great progress. You Rawk!
4.)Ben Higgins Ben Freakin Higgins! Needless to say you ripped it to shreds and balanced it with soulful licks bursting with groove and technique. I blended your licks with some of the bordering chops and got some great dual guitar effects. Killer job.
5.)Rammikin Congrats on your first Collab! Well done on jumping and kudos for indulging yourself as you mentioned as that's what this type of thing is all about! Your licks worked well and you combined scale work and legato with style. Nicely played.
6.)Ivan One of my Fav Ivan Solos Ever! I gave you the ending segment where it's just you and bass guitar to let you go nuts without the distraction of the drums. Loved it.
