Hello,

I have the Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920 and I'm having trouble getting the video imported into Reaper. I am using the 64-bit version of Reaper since I'm using Windows 7x64.

I record a video using Logitech's software that came with the camera and it's saved as an .mp4 file. I then drag it into Reaper and it says "Could not import 1 of 1 items!" I tried recording the video using Windows Live Movie Maker and it saves the file as a .wmv. This imported fine into Reaper, but it's very choppy. Also, this isn't a performance issue in regards to my PC. I built it myself and it's quite powerful biggrin.gif

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? Anyone else with the same webcam that uses Reaper?

Thanks! Hopefully soon I'll have some REC videos up.

edit: Also, I tried converting the .wmv file to an .mp4 using VLC, but it wasn't working and I don't want to download new software until I have to.

I notice nobody has replied yet as they are probably figuring you'll hit the WIKI and FORUMS as this is one of those questions that comes up over and over so let me go ahead and give you a spiff link!

Thanks for the reply!

I already did a search on the Internet and it seems to be a common problem, but the solutions involve updating the codecs. I updated them, but the video still freezes. I also tried changing the quality of the video recording to a lower resolution and still nothing. I took your advice and did another search through the wiki and couldn't find anything specific to this.

Do you have any other suggestions I could try?

Thanks again!

Try downloading QUICKTIME from the Apple site. Set video input to web cam, and audio input your audio interface. You'll end up with a quicktime movie that has audio and video in synch smile.gif

Thanks for the tip. I did some research and ended up downloading CyberLink Power Director Ultra 7. It's apparently a nifty video editing program and has everything I need. I don't know why Reaper was giving me problems, but a lot of people seem to have the same problem. It's probably something they need to work on. I'll probably buy their license after they improve that aspect tongue.gif

I wish I didn't have to go through another program though because it feels like an unnecessary step, but whatever, I am happy to finally be able to record some videos for REC (I just moved across the country and left my amplifier at home so I couldn't just mic anything).

Anyways, thanks again for the help Todd!
