Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Cheers mate! Excellent playing as usual and you are almost there with a great take!

The things on which you should focus, are vibrato - you need to make things sound a bit more natural and add that very important wideness to the vibrato technique. Working on a slower tempo and focusing on the vibrato technique will increase your abilities and maybe you would want to throw an eye over this lesson, which isolates the technique and focuses solely on it:

The other thing which I wanted to point out, would be the faster lick towards the end of the piece, which could use some isolating, slowing down and practicing separately, so that you may have it as clear and clean played when you implement it back into the context of the main piece.

You are definitely on the good way with your playing, so take care of the above mentioned aspects and you're good to go!

Hi mate! This is a very good take. You can play each lick at tempo and tight and that's not a small thing. It's a demanding lesson full of tricky licks and phrases. So congrats about it!

Now I think that it's time to work on details that are more connected to expression and feeling. Your take is lacking dynamics comparing your playing with the original lesson. Muris plays some licks more accentuated and some others softer depending on the type of melody and that gives a new dimension to his solo. I also noted that you are using the neck pick up while Muris uses the bridge one which gives the tone a clearer sound and definition. I feel that most of the licks of this solo sound better if you use your bridge pick up.

Besides this dynamics thing, please work on your vibrato technique to make it more consistent and stronger. that's another big difference comparing your take with the original one. Work on that lesson shared by Cosmin and also practice this lesson over the original take trying to emulate Muris's vibrato.

That's all. Keep on the great job! wink.gif

This is an excellent take.

You've got a good flow throughout, it sounds very natural.

There's 2 places where I think you could improve:

- Pick dynamics. Try to get some staccato sounds in your phrasing. Cut notes off earlier to make them sound more snappy. Not all the time. You want to balance the smooth with the staccato, of course. But in the original lesson you'll hear staccato and legato.
- Tone. I'm not sure if you're using a plugin or some other tone software but the distortion sound reminds me of plugins. It gives a sound that is a bit... 'farty', there's no other word for it ! So you could do with finding a nicer, more natural sounding distortion and try using the bridge pickup for brightness.
