> IS THAT YOUR MAMA?

Nope didn't think so either. We all know parents don't get this.

I can show you how to be the virtuoso your folks could only dream about, but I first need your help:

* Pm me and I will show you where to start. I am online every day and I will help you out directly!

* Join my mentoring program. I will customize your learning experience in a way you haven't experienced before. We will have regular contact so that you can remain inspired every day and eventually reach a new level.

* Join my next video chat! GMC startpage holds a video chat schedule. We always cover a lot of ground and have fun. Remember that you don't need any previous knowledge, and you can be passive in the chat.

* Jam with me - you will find active collabs here.

* Post a topic on this board, guitar related or not - doesn't matter! You will find that chatting with instructors boosts your motivation to practice.

* You haven't missed my latest video lessons, have you?

* Oh and did you know that to become a killer guitarist you just need to focus on one thing? Everything
else is secondary. Pm me and I will explain.

Hey bud!

Thanks for taking me on.

I'll get started then, I started playing when I was about 16 (I'm 23 now) and I only play occasionally, I have never really sat down to practise properly, but I really need to. I would say my technique wildy beats my knowledge, and I think I'm about a 4/5 maybe on the lesson skill level.

I own a few Gibson Les Paul standards, run them through either my Blackstar Artisian 100 H, or the Marshall AFD 100 ( Modded JCM 800 head pretty much) - tone and clarity is a big thing for me, I do rather like your voice of your guitar lesson.

My weakest point as I stated is knowledge, and therefore improvisation.

I have no idea where to start when it comes to scales and chord progressions, how to phrase over things, write riffs etc I just seem to be playing the same things over and over.

My main influences come from these kinds of guitarists - Slash, Joe Perry, David Gilmour, Angus Young etc.

Do you think you will be able to help me get over my hurdle of not practising and learning enough? I have such a long long way to go.

Hey there mate smile.gif Nothing, but absolutely nothing is unachievable, so I'm sure we can make things happen smile.gif

Would you be up for learning and recording around one lesson/ week? My suggestion would be, tackle a lesson and grasp all it's goodness - theory, interpretation and technique wise. Record it and post it in the REC section. My plan would be to have ALL of you guys here become A class students wink.gif

What say you?

Alright then, that sounds cool.

Want to find me a lesson I should start with?

If you want to hear/see me play a little bit, I did a colab with a friend from work - www.youtube.com/Divscyren any guitar you hear on there is me.

When it comes to recording, I need to buy some new recording gear, so I can record straight onto my PC and film myself playing, do you know of any good bits of equipment/software that would help with that?

Thanks Cosmin

No problemmo mate! Check this out:

- for filming, you can use a webcame - for instance, I have the Microsoft Lifecam HD 3000 which I am suing for the video chat and I think you can do a good thing with it.

- for audio recording, I have a good recommendation:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=playe...p;v=18Kh2LB7K_E

Just listened to the takes biggrin.gif and I think the stuff there is good enough to get you started with level 3 stuff already smile.gif what would you like, lead or rhythm oriented stuff to start with? smile.gif

Well, if we start with rhythm one then move onto lead, that would be cool?

Perfect mate, let's say this one smile.gif

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/rhythm-gu...c-metal-rhythm/

It is fairly easy to tackle and it should give you a nice sense of accomplishment once you have it blazing wink.gif What say you? If you like it, I would suggest focusing on achieving a full rich sound with your hands and a tight and good timed interpretation!

Hey matey!

I started picking it up, the parts that get me off guard are the fast palm muted single notes into the power chords, I've never been spectacular at them.

I haven't played it in the last week though, been doing 10 hour shifts everyday, trying to save money for when I go to Uni (If I get in) and then I do a few hours at the gym too.

Excuses, excuses I hear you scream!

I want to nail it before I record the sound and video for it too.

Hope you are well man, thought I'd let you know I haven't forgotten.

Hey hey Cosmin,

I'm going to be applying for a Bio-medical Science course - I have my application and personal statements to fill out, and then a test next week.

As for the lesson - I still can't get the faster part down perfectly, even though its a couple of seconds long it is the change in tempo in my right hand that throws me off. I'm glad you picked this lesson for me as well as other people as it is one of my weaker points.

Thought I would provide you with an update and let you know that I have not forgotten smile.gif

Hey mate - I wish you all the luck for your test wink.gif I was thinking that in order to avoid growing bored of that lesson, you could tackle another in parallel, maybe an easier one which you like very much? biggrin.gif Do you have any favorite one you would like to learn?

I don't get chance to play very often so I doubt i'll get bored of it.

If you want to find me a lead one to do as well though that would be great.

Thanks!

Sure mate, let's see, I picked out an easier one this time - the feeling of accomplishment feels like nothing else so, I think this one will be a bit easier to tackle wink.gif
