Haha! Surprise
This is your personal space and place for debating all your musical endeavors in which I would be honored to help out
What are you practicing at the moment my friend?
Cosmin
Ah wow thank you! I didn't expect this haha
Actually, right now I'm working on your Guthrie Govan style arpeggios lesson, which I might well do a REC take for you today
At least now that I've finished the other video that I did yesterday on my Youtube account, which was a Bullet for my valentine cover, simply to say that I did a Bullet for my valentine cover for valentine's day
But thank you!
Actually, could I just ask for your opinion on something?
Just cos as I said in my introductory post I've been working on an instrumental song for a couple of months now, writing and recording, and well, basically, here it is pretty much! I'll attach it.
I just wanted to know what you thought of it Areas to improve, things that sound good/bad, and the mix
Thanks!
hey mate!
I LOVE the composition especially the mid part where the clean kicks in! Super!
You have a good melodic sense, the themes are catchy and the orchestration breathes, there are little articulation issues which could be improved (certain bends and vibrato elements) but that will come in time.
Regarding the mix, I would raise the volume of the drums and the bass a little - although, I will listen again (I am on my laptop now and the sound may be deceiving in this environment)
Very good mate, very very good it actually stuck to my head!
Do you already have a band?
Cosmin
Wow, Thank you very much!!
Okay, thanks I'll try and do what you said.
I have a small band at my school, but It has never really been anything serious and I don't think that it's really going anywhere... It's just for fun the odd time after school.
Still, I'm always writing and recording ideas like this whenever I can
Max
No problem man! Tell me, what would you like to tackle next out o the lessons available here?
To be completely honest, I'm not sure! I mean, in terms of what I enjoy to play is the more technical lead lines etc, but that would also probably be my strongest point, so it's probably best to focus on weaker parts of my playing..
Having seen my videos, what do you think will be best?
Max
Mate, I think you should focus on rhythm a bit (as I have seen in the Metal Metrics 5, you could improve a lot) and I was thinking that, since you liked the Marco Sfogli solo why not try the rhythmic piece on which it was built
Check this out:

The better you master rhythm the better a lead player you shall become - so, I suggest you tackle this one and be as tight and brutal as possible
Hey Cosmin!
Sorry I've been so quiet over the last week!! I was pretty busy with some school exams :/
But now I can get back to enjoying GMC to it's fullest! I've been working on the Metal Metrics lesson you posted, and I'll try and record something for you over the next couple of days. I might just start off with just showing you the video and not submitting the REC take yet though haha
Hey, I just recorded the take Just one thing though, sorry to ask, but do you mind if I post it two semitones up? So in Drop D instead of Drop C? I'm just wondering because at least for this take it would be a real pain to tune all the way down, and I was planning to change the pitch afterwards on a program.
But basically, when I change the pitch, it mucks up the whole tone and mix etc. of everything, and really there isn't any definition and it's just generally bad quality, so it would be great if for this take I could upload it in Drop D? And then in the actual REC I'll tune down
Thanks Of course, I'll tune down for the actual REC take
Okay, here it is!
Okay thanks! I'll try and work on those things for the REC take
I'll probably be able to record it pretty soon, either today or tomorrow
Ah I'm sorry, but I just broke the high e string So I can't do it today.. I'll try and get a new string by tomorrow though..
