Pretty much where we already live. Our house sits mre or less at the point where 3 Sierras, 2 of which are protected parks, meet. We're a few hundred meters above sea level in a valley between two quite high mountain ranges. Most of the land is protected but some is farm land and some hunting ranges. Farms here are all small so there is no intensive farming.
Wildlife - well on a daily basis the birds we get include gryphon and Egyptians vultures, eagles, hawks, egrets, storks, grouse and partrdiges and lots of smaller birds; animals range from wild boars, deer, foxes, stoats, rabbits, lizards and geckos to farm animals like goats, donkeys, horses, cows, Spanish fighting bulls, chickens, turkeys, peacocks, pigs (including Spanish black pigs) and sheep. (There's a local guy who herds his free range turkeys up and down the road outside our house twice a day .) We have Cyprus pines, Spanish oaks, cork, carob, almond, pomegranite, orange, lemon and palm trees along with cacti, poppies, fuscia, roses and lots of other flowers growing wild. Cultivated stuff includes beans, potatoes, tobacco, cotton and olives. Most of the year the days are long and sunny. Even now in winter the temperature range is 12-25C and it's daylight from about 7am to 7pm. Summer can get a bit hot and the temperature has peaked at well over 45C.There's very little pollution, virtually no street lights etc, so the nightsky here is very clear and wonderful. Most of the year you can sit out in to the early hours watching the stars and meteor showers. -------------------- Get your music professionally mastered by anl AES registered Mastering Engineer. I love the country side in pretty much all of Colombia, and the weather is just so great, spring all the time in most places. but if I have to choose, maybe the Sierra Nevada in Santa Marta, just a beautiful mystical place

Nice thread! There are many places in my country that remembers me to my childhood. One of them is Mar del Plata because I always went there with my family. But if I have to say my favourite place from my country I would say Mendoza...

All those places sound great, but yours Tony really sounds like something close to ideal place where I would like to spend my life. Such a nice sounding place.. Not sure what could be my favorite place, but I liked mountains the most when I was a child. Would love to live on one mountain for some time, just to see how it is (and snowboard a bit ) -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE
