Just getting over a bad cold, but have wanted to work on this for a while. My goal is to take some of your licks and Kris's and my improv with some of the fast stuff. Which I haven't got to yet.

Would really like to know what you think so far good and bad. Thanks for the tone patches. Tweaked them for my guitar. How do they sound?

Thanks for listening and your comments.

Sorry for the edit. I finally realized I uploaded the wrong final mix laugh.gif laugh.gif This isn't a different take but the panning and mix are a little smoother I think.

Sorry smile.gif

"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato

I really enjoyed listening to this! Thanks UncleSkillet biggrin.gif

I like your vibrato a lot. You have a good control over it and don't use the same speed on all the notes, which is very tasteful. Great job there! smile.gif You do seem to release the vibrato a bit too early on few of the notes though. Nothing wrong with that, but it's just that some of those notes go slightly out of pitch. So you have to either sustain the vibrato until the note is finished, or release it completely - there's no option in between.

The tone sounds great! Nice tweaking! It's very bluesy and nice. Would you mind uploading the patches here? smile.gif

You have a very nice feel in the verse. Very very bluesy! All the notes and bends are perfect on pitch, and the vibrato is again very tasteful. You also leave a nice space between the notes. Though I would like to hear a more solid structure throughout the verse (It seems a little bit like improvising, or random notes/licks). The first two licks are nice, but after that I lose the structure.

Please keep me updated on your progress with this song. I'd love to hear how you develop smile.gif

Thanks for your encouragement and advise on the vibrato. I no exactly what you mean about the release and being out of pitch. I couldn't hold it any longer because my fingers where killing me laugh.gif

I intend to get it right for the final recording.

The blues part was a complete mess for the most part. I really just wanted to see how the sound (tone) would sit in the mix.

This whole recording was a sound check for me for the most part and I'm very pleased that you enjoyed it. Here are the Gearbox files you asked for. I'm using that and a Tone Port UX1. Don't have a POD but they should convert ok I think.
