Hey GMCers! Welcome to my first collaboration! I recorded a backing track in D minor with a modern rock sound but using a chord progression that sounds like Gun’s and Roses. I want to see all those Slash and Zakk Wylde fans rocking over this one!!

This is the chord progression of the song: Dm – F – G – C. You can use D minor Aeolian and D pentatonic minor over this progression but when the backing plays G you’ll have to use D dorian mode.
The structure is simple: Intro – Verse – Chorus – Verse – Chorus – Chorus.

The song is short so we‘ll have not more than 7 players for this one. I would like to receive lots of nice melodies (mainly in the chorus) but also angry pentatonic licks. (check my Zakk Wylde's style lesson and also my rocker lessons).

Let me know who is in.

Enjoy it!!

Gab.-

Attached File  Modern___Rocker_Collaboration__Gabriel_Leopardi_.mp3 ( 3.53MB ) Number of downloads: 289

Finally we have 8 participants. Here we have the players and the part of each one:

Intro: The Uncreator
Verse: (two players) Smells & Zephyr
Chorus: (one player) FretDancer69
Verse: (two players) Slammer & preownedguitar
Chorus: (one player) Gilmore
Chorus: (one player) Tjchep

Great Tjchep and Fretdancer!! let's begin the improvisations! Remember that the pentatonic scale will sound good all the time over this progression. But if you use dorian mode over the G maj chord it will sound more interesting. wink.gif

Any other player?

what do you think if each on of you choose the part that would like to play the lead guitar?

we can divide it like that:

Intro
Verse (two players)
Chorus (one player)
Verse (two players)
Chorus (one player)
Chorus (one player)

Everybody could also record some arrangements and short melodies in the whole song and then I could choose the parts that fits better with the lead guitar. In the last chorus it would be great if we have some other guitars playing speed licks.
(However you could post a whole song solo in the uploads only topic if you want. but please let me know in this tread wich is the part that you choose to play the lead guitar)

so please choose your part... smile.gif

and make me know who would like to be the seventh player.
