God, i love this song.. the lyrics are very inspiring to me, and i get chills every time i hear the guitar solo. definetly one of my favorite songs.

I'm not saying they are bad by the way. I don't mind the odd song. I'm just saying that calling them Death Metal is laughable because they aren't.

I've told you why they aren't classed as Death Metal so why do you think they are?
I think you'll find with research that Death Metal was formed because of the lyrical content. I hate bands being categorised in the wrong areas because calling Arch Enemy a death metal band will keep lots away from listening to them. They are just a Heavy Metal Band or Extreme Metal Band. Death Metal they aint. It isn't my opinion it is from musical history. i don't know if i would classic Arch Enemy as deathmetal but i also don't agree with OrganizedConfusions idea that death metal bands sing primarily about death. I classify death metal by mostly the Blastbeat drums, deep growling vocals and alot of tremelo picking and low drop tunings, i believe arch enemy are a little soft to be "Death Metal" but they do have very dark vocals which may make people think they are "death metal" I would classify Arch Enemy as a more " New Age Thrash" with bands like Shadows Fall, Trivium and Children of Bodom, or i would again classify them as a Melodic Death Metal or just a light Death Metal.
