Hi all,
I'm having problems with timing, but only within a song.I understand the metronome lesson, but i can't seem to apply that knowledge while playing a song. Most songs i attempt to play are in common time and not that fast.I think i'm counting wrong or something like that.At this point i feel like an idiot.PLEASE HELP |

I can't really say that there is a direct connection between understanding the metronome lesson and undertsanding the timing in a song. (in the long run there is a connection for sure)
My advice is to get the song timing right is to loop it over and over again - and try to play with the recording. If you haven't really nailed a part of a song before - then you might have to put quite some work into this. And it will be well worth it - as you most likely will have a treshold experience after getting the timing right for the first time. So just try it over and over - and if it is a difficult part you are working with, I would suggest you either pick an easier one, or try to simplify what you are playing just to get the timing right. Hope it helps... -------------------- I do not have any natural talent at all - you can beat me with hard work.
