Looks like places west of where I live. It is just like here, except we have grass, and trees, and no mountains. Other than that, just like here. You see a lot of churches like that, often abandoned, sometimes converted to houses. I would like a house made from an old church, some guy has one a few blocks away from me, pretty neat. And Slash sure has a long cord. Not only that, it is an invisible cord. Must cost a lot. I like Slash a lot, he has made serious contributions in his career. Yeah it is much better to start learning by ear early on along with your theory practice. Rather than just learning the scales on guitar try and hear the scales and spot the different intervals.

It's actually a very easy solo to figure out. The fast bits are a bit awkward, but if you can slow the track down in your MP3 playing software, I'm sure you can figure it out. There are plenty of tabs around online as well.

My favourite Guns and Roses song by a long way I agree, even though they have plenty of incredible songs.. Estranged is the best in my opinion! This post has been edited by Iluha: Apr 18 2008, 04:34 PM -------------------- |

If you're looking to break into learning Slash's solos I would highly suggest starting with Knockin on Heavens Door, or Don't Cry. Both will give you a great idea of the licks and structure of most of his famous solos.

Not Sweet Child O' Mine, or Paradise City? i think Paradise City was a masterpiece. It is one of those songs that got associated with a particular video that got played all the time, and when that happens people sometimes overlook how good a song that really was. If you listen to Slash on that, well there is a lot there. -------------------- ![]() |

I love that song. One of the best GNR songs ever made, and one of the greatest guitar solos ever written in my opinion.

Great solo. The church was built for the purpose of the video. I remember seeing a MTV news bit about it back when the video first came out.

Hey man. That is for me the best solo ever. It is so good when Slash steps up in the piano (in the video)
This song is so perfect... If you have problems getting solos by ear (like me) I will give you 2 advices 1) Buy the Guns N' Roses Complete (2 volumes) songbook from Cherry Lane Music. I have it, and it is really pretty accurate. 2) Buy guitar pro software and search for 5 stars tabs in ultimate guitar -------------------- my "Thank you GMC!" video
If you like it please vote in the competition ;-) Gus Stairway to Guitar Heaven - my practice agenda Check out my lesson here Phrygian Dominant Solo lesson Gear : Ibanez RGT320q (I just love the neck-thru sustain), Washburn EA-20SDL (acoustic 6 string), Standard strat (Mexico), POD X3 Live Some of my Guitar heroes: Jimmy Page, Slash, Kirk Hammett, Augusto Licks, Joe Satriani, Gus G, David Gilmour, Mark Knopfler... |

I love the November Rain Solo, but i still think Estranged solo is better.
1.Estranged Solo 2.Sweet Child o' Mine & November Rain i cant decide there both amazing 3.Dont Cry 4.Civil War 5.Patience Slash's solos are all incredible but i find they've gone downhill since VR i dont care for them mabey its just cause the Lead singers vocals turn me right off.... |
