This guy (on some Asian drum) is worth listening to, he gives a good feel for what odd time rhythms are supposed to be. He also has an interesting myspace. Juan's lessons, as well as some metal lessons got me interested in this sort of thing.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=P4gTLMrJD1Y And in looking at odd time rhytms, I came across this, world champion belly dancer. Of course i am only interested in the artistic aspects of this. You have to wait till 6 minutes in to see her do her stuff, but it is worth it. HOWEVER BE WARNED! The lady commentator earlier in the video talks about her practicing the belly dancing routines....I expect to have nightmares in the future based on the image that created in my mind. http://youtube.com/watch?v=vNJzk2uC2Ls&feature=related This post has been edited by fkalich: May 19 2008, 01:32 AM -------------------- ![]() |
