is tapping easier on a bigger guage string. Right now i am us .10 guage, very light and thin strings . i cant tap on the high e string, it just doesnt ring out. I can tap perfectly fine on any other string except the high e.

So is tapping easier on a heavier guage string?

It's easier with thinner strings because you need less strenght to push them down.

My vote for thinner strings too! Easier to execute on them.

There will always be people who are not informed or not understand music well, but it's about an attitude here. This was probably some immature person, so it may be wise not to pay attention to youths when they talk like that. They usually don't have the complete picture in their mind about life, let alone music.
