I will refrain from posting any real comments on the new Metallca album until I've heard it and held it in my hands.
However, from what I could determine from the video is that Metallica has started to play a bit more technical, which is a good thing. James seems to look younger and Lars's drumming isn't the trash can drumming from ST Anger, Which are both a good thing. To be honest, I'm actually quite looking forward to the new album. |

Some cool parts. Pretty good song.
Lars is playing great on drums. I loved the way he played on St. Anger, just not the sound of the drums as much on it. Miss the old Hetfield Growl and bark in his voice from old days(Voice sounded best on Puppets , Justice and the Black album, for me), but I'll always give Metallica a listen with anything they do. |

I thought it was good, but i'll wait to hear the whole albulm befor I comment as well. I do think Rick Rubin and Robert Trujillo will make a difference in "Death Magnetic"

To be honest, to me that didn't sound like anything special, but I won't make any final judgements until I have heard the whole album. Let's just hope for the best

Robert Trujillo should have stayed with Infectious Grooves... I love that band...
This was nothing special, but still better than anything on St. Anger. |

If you don't have anything nice to say.... He has a right to a negative opinion. I think it was okay...but it's never going to be as good as their older albums. -------------------- ![]() |

Nope, I really don't like it... It's been downhill since Master of Puppets for them, and this really doesn't change anything

It's always hard to get an impression when hearing a song for the first time through a live recording - but to me this sounds very promising! Thanks for the link.
