Can anybody give me suggestions for sad acoustic songs? I'm working on some Eric Clapton stuff but I want to improve my range...

I guess that you're already working on Tears in Heaven, aren't you ?
I suggest some Radiohead songs like Street spirit, maybe Unintended from Muse if you like this kind of band Cheers ! |

You can play Soldier of Fortune and When a blind man cries from Purple, they are both sad and suitable for acoustic play-along with voice only.

So far, I like almost all suggestions
For some reason, I don't like Beatles playing that much -------------------- Thy wish for our happiness while thy take it away... I can't think of anything more sad than "Hurt" as played by Johnny Cash.
But try also: Wicked game (Chris Isaak), black (pearl jam), mama said (metallica), if tomorrow never comes (garth brooks), Fake plastic trees (radiohead). Well, all of that should be sadness enough This post has been edited by Gus: Oct 9 2008, 02:15 AM -------------------- my "Thank you GMC!" video
If you like it please vote in the competition ;-) Gus Stairway to Guitar Heaven - my practice agenda Check out my lesson here Phrygian Dominant Solo lesson Gear : Ibanez RGT320q (I just love the neck-thru sustain), Washburn EA-20SDL (acoustic 6 string), Standard strat (Mexico), POD X3 Live Some of my Guitar heroes: Jimmy Page, Slash, Kirk Hammett, Augusto Licks, Joe Satriani, Gus G, David Gilmour, Mark Knopfler... |
