I just composed this solo,10 mins ago, and I was trying to practice modulation and insure that
I was doing everything correctly. There's an mp3 in the attachment of it.
The chord progression is F Major-B Dim-A Minor which suit (I guess) F lydian,B locrian and A aeolian.(C Major scale)
Excuse my rusty playing I just moved to Australia,a month ago, and didn't bring any of my guitars with me. I just bought
a crappy USB guitar today so I've been playing on it the whole day lol.

Bit dry tone, but otherwise I loved the choice of notes and backing!

I think theory wise it sounds very good, no problem there. You played all the notes in the key, so no worries mate. Good job. smile.gif

Spartan sounds nice!

I would recommend adding another chord to the progression to create smoother transition to A min.
E major is your best choice but its not in the key of C , so you can use E minor then.

Resolutions by perfect 4th sound the strongest , along with stepwise motion.
G to A minor or in your case B dim to A min is good to biggrin.gif

Hope that helps

All played very well, interesting note choice indeed!

I would just add one thing related to theory,
you don't have to think of different mode
every time you play next chord in progression(if all the chord are from the same key),
that kind of approach is useful but also sometimes might distract you,
it's always good to think of A note as a root in progressions like this,
just my 2 cents smile.gif

Why a special note muris? I have noticed you change roots alot in your lessons too, even if it's to the same mode.
I really haven't grasped the reason of this.

Ahh,that is another situation,
both keys are Lydian, which means totally different notes.
You would be right if I were using E Lydian and A#(Bb) Locrian per example,
those 2/keys modes are from B major scale and have same notes.
E Lydian and Bb Lydian are 2 fully different scales tho. smile.gif

Cool.
I had one idea of this from before, but it's to utilize like... symmetrical shaped intervals.
What do you think?
