Something new I put together. Some parts need rerecorded, but I'm going to try to put some finishing touches here and there as far as actual composition goes before I strive for recording perfection. There are some generous repetitions to allow room for additional change-ups as well as of course vocals, which I'll record as soon as I write some lyrics. I just wanted to post and get some opinions and advice, and, as always, I'm very much open to input via creative recordings. Thanks for listening!

I need to learn how to use midi. Or at least hook my midi keyboard into sonar. -------------------- My Gear

I have a midi controller keyboard too, but I usually end up just programming the symphonic orchestra/choir in the piano roll in sonar. It takes some getting used to, and sometimes i really hate it because it makes doing something so simple a pain, but it's been working. -------------------- |

What VST do you use for the symphonic/orchestra/choir stuff?

What VST do you use for the symphonic/orchestra/choir stuff? i use east/west symphonic orchestra gold and east/west symphonic choir... they're expensive and maybe a little bit more than i need currently.. but in the near future i plan on making use of the of the features and samples i haven't had a chance to play with yet. For instance, there's the wordbuilder plugin for symphonic choirs so you can program in words for them to actually pronounce to the notes. In fact the only thing thats holding me back from implementing into my work and replacing the generic "oh"s and "ah"s is the fact that wordbuilder doesn't like 64bit sonar, which is currently what im using (in order to make use of the 4GB of ram that I have.. which i need in order to be able to load all of the choir samples to use with word-builder into ram... pretty stupid, i know). oh and for the drums i'm using Drumkit From Hell samples with the EZDrummer plugin. With it, you basically just drag and drop different preset grooves and fills into the project file. I have my bass player go through and tweak/customize them afterwards so that they're unique patterns, but i'd say ezdrummer is the program i have to thank most for how fast i can write songs. -------------------- |

Thanks Steiner.
I do have the DFH VST. Love it! Been eyeing Superior Drummer 2.0 though. That thing is a 19 Gig install!!! I saw it for about $250. -------------------- My Gear

Nice! I notice some viking style influences in my point of view, the voice seems to be to high (I mean, volume wise). Like the Combinations, powerful riffs, keep on updating
