Random yay-ness here!

Was at two job interviews today. The first one went well, the second one said in the first minute that they couldn't use me due to my knee injury. Anyways... The first company told me to call back when I had been at the second interview.

I called them back, and she told me that she had another job interview, but that would have to be something spectacular if it wasn't going to be me.

Now she just called me again and told me that I could get the job, if I was still interested.

I start by the 15th though, so there's some weeks without payment, but that will be fine, as I have some savings and then have some time off to spent with my girlfriend, guitar and cat laugh.gif

So from now on my dress code at work will be nice and pretty clothes, hair in a pony tail etc.

They seem pretty relaxed and all. There are about 5 lawyers, a secretary and then their current assistent. I will be taking over the assistent role laugh.gif . Anyways... their current "assistent" had a piercing in her nose and all, so I don't think they are too strict in such concerns, but of course nice clothes etc. is a mandatory when working with lawyers wink.gif

Yippie Yay! tongue.gif

Congratulations, Ben. smile.gif

I couldn´t work as an assistant... It´s so much stress and you get faced with problems that do not concern you (when someone comes to his lawyer, usually you get a bit involved...).

Good luck, anyway. smile.gif

Congratulations on the new job. I told you to apply for a job in an office tongue.gif It's usually easy work and good times smile.gif

I hope it's "easier" than delivering post, which in it self is fairly easy, but very stressful due to how that whole system works. This office job should be a bit more exciting as well.

People have always told me that I'm good in stressed situation - mentally that is (maybe also physically) and keeping many balls in the air (is that an English term as well?) without loosing view of the whole. Hopefully that'll be to my advantage now. The whole mail delivering was stressful at a whole other way. And the meeting hours as well...

QUOTE (Smells @ Dec 1 2008, 01:27 PM) *
cool, well done on the new job! always nice to have a little time off before you start a new job (provided you can afford it ofc smile.gif )

hmmmm... new job, that`d be nice, been at mine for 8 years now, cant see me going anywhere just yet though! I may have to actually do something then ohmy.gif laugh.gif

Yeah, I can luckily afford the days off, and it's very nice to just chill for a bit and relax, even though I've been more relaxed lately... But I never say no to days off.

Besides the boss is giving the company (consisting of 7 all in all) a week off between christmas and New Years eve. Besides that you have 5 weeks of vacation during the year - compared to the 10 in the postal service that may sound as few, but here you don't have to work on Saturdays.

QUOTE (Dejan Farkas @ Dec 1 2008, 01:29 PM) *
Congrats smile.gif

You should check with them if they have any dressing code wink.gif

Thanks.

I'm sure there's no more dressing code than proper common clothes. I like wearing nice clothes when I have to - I just don't do it at home, when I go shopping etc.

QUOTE (Praetorian @ Dec 1 2008, 02:48 PM) *
Congratulations! Real life is starting...AHHHHHH!!! tongue.gif

Well... real life started some months ago when I started working in the postal service, but of course this is real life as in more normal working hours, where I'll now be stuck in morning trafic, grocery shopping when I get home with 100000 other people etc.

QUOTE (skennington @ Dec 1 2008, 03:03 PM) *
Gratz on the new job Ben. smile.gif

Thanks, Sken! I hope I'll enjoy it more than my last job. rolleyes.gif

I actually wouldn't mind studying law, so I geuss it is a good place to start. Especially if I can get a good 1½ years before going to university.

Well, postman is okay if you're a morning man.

What bothered me the most, I found out, was the fact that I would have to go to bed so early. I've always loved those hours between 10PM and 1AM for some reason with movies, internet being active, bad comedy shows, and being a postman I had to go to bed before that.

QUOTE (Bogdan Radovic @ Dec 1 2008, 03:25 PM) *

Well, if you're willing to give it your all, I think it is somewhat easy. I sent out 33 job applications in a day, so I geuss I was somewhat bound to find something. I could have easily sent out another 33 if I wanted...(and then my Dad complains he can't send 4 applications a day... tsk.*)

*When unemployed in Denmark, and reciving money from the government you have to prove that you are looking for a job, if I recall correctly. As far as I know, it can be applications to companies that doesn't necesarily seek new workers.

Yeah, I've thought of that, but I've always been good at keeping on top of such things that put you under mental stress and put them aside when you get home.

I geuss the postal service is good for not having to worry about anything when you get home, but my situation got me into worrying anyways.
