I like Queensryche but I dislike war and soldiers fighting in illegal wars so I won't be buying it as I'm not interested in their blood thirsty stories I'm afraid.

I give them a lot of credit for continuing to do new music. Operation Midcrime will never be topped by them. But still they forge onward.

I like Queensryche but I dislike war and soldiers fighting in illegal wars so I won't be buying it as I'm not interested in their blood thirsty stories I'm afraid. Excusive Podcast: Queensryche Singer Geoff Tate Pays Tribute to U.S. Soldiers From World War II to War in Iraq on Band’s New Album12/26/2008 Like many artists, Queensryche frontman Geoff Tate considers himself anti-war. Even though his father was is a war veteran who fought in both Korea and Vietnam, Tate has always felt that killing is wrong and that there should be alternatives to war and human bloodshed. Then he had his first real conversation with his dad about being in battle, and he was mesmerized by what he heard. Not only did his father open up about the struggles and sacrifices being a soldier, he revealed that most men in the military, if given a choice, would opt not to fight. Intrigued, Tate spent several years recording interviews with his father’s military friends, then soldiers they knew and eventually decided to write a Queensryche album with his bandmates based on the conversations. American Soldier, the group’s twelfth record will come out in March and feature personal, gripping stories about the triumphs and tragedies of combat ranging from tales from World War II veterans to recollections from soldiers in Iraq. `````````````````````````````````````` Sounds like Geoff Tate has the same views as you Paul but maybe worded it a bit differently. From the sounds of it its from the views of the soldiers.
Not the politicians involved. This is what will make it very moving. As opposed to an album by the likes of say.... Pantera. That would be an entirely different thing I'm sure. -------------------- My Gear

I'll always give a new Queensryche album a chance, although their releases over the last few years have been a bit hit and miss. I love Geoff Tates vocals and some of the guitar work from the Rage to Order and Mindcrime albums was great. Hopefully American Soldier will be a Ryche masterpiece.
